Pros

Pros are the curriculum and having an assistant teacher.

Cons

Cons are low salary, no participation in Arizona State Retirement System, nepotism creates a very cliquish environment, assistant teachers are often not qualified. It was not the 'Great Hearted' workplace I had expected.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We believe the best learning environments for our students include a great books, classical education curriculum and having a staff that works together to give the students the very best. In particular, a lead teacher working with a teaching apprentice/assistant who is learning teaching strategies and how to be a good teacher. Our TAs are placed through a rigorous training program and are trained by lead teachers and staff to be an integral part of our academies. Our compensation package has been an area that we have been working to improve. Great Hearts does provide excellent benefits (medical, dental, etc.), with employee premiums that are significantly below the national and regional averages. As of the 2024-2025 school year, we have increased the salaries of our current and new teachers.
