Pros

Great people to work with and some good learning opportunities.

Cons

Imagine working at a company for 18 months, and due to some mindbender of a policy, the baseline salary for new-hires is set to the same rate as your current pay. Then imagine making the same salary as developers with 18 months less experience than you. On top of that, when yearly reviews cone around, and you're finally up for promotion, they don't promote you because sales were too low. You're a developer in this scenario, not a salesperson. But, because you're up for promotion, they lower the amount of your merit increase because "you'll get another raise when you're promoted." So now those developers with 18 months less experience are making more money than you. It makes no sense and is, quite frankly, insulting.

Thank you for your candid feedback. We learn by listening to our employees and take pride in working to address concerns. On the surface, you have a legitimate concern. Situations like this could occur because market forces drive salaries that we offer to our entry-level employees. The competitive wage that was offered to you 18 months ago may not be competitive to attract developers now. We do take great care to retain talent within our workforce with an attractive salary and benefits package. We also take great pride in offering our employees career development utilizing career maps and developmental assistance programs. It does appear that there is some misunderstanding of our quarterly promotion process. Please work directly with your manager, talent management, or another member of leadership regarding the promotion process. Annual Performance Review discussions are also a great time for you and your leader to review your performance during the past year, address goals for the upcoming year, and discuss promotion opportunities as well as merit increases. However, don’t wait for this annual process. Please ensure that you are consistently having open and honest discussions with your manager about priorities, performance and professional development opportunities. Our developers play an integral role in product development, and will be key as we design our next platform. We are always striving to make Greenway Health a better place to work for all of our employees.

Pros

The training has been thorough and helpful, and definitely feels like something that would apply to many jobs, not just Greenway. Even as a new developer I've been placed on a relatively new product and actually get to update it with features and functionality. Everyone around me seems motivated and actually works at their job. Excellent work/life balance, you never feel pressed to work 60 hour weeks or stay until 9 pm. The company really does make an effort to have everyone feel like they're part of the same organization, through the one-week combined training and regular company-wide presentations.

Cons

Pay is quite low, especially if you're in Tampa or some other area where cost of living isn't so cheap. Healthcare plan is outright bad, although the HSA option is helpful.

Thanks for the great review! We love the culture of Greenway Health too, and are so excited to see your positive experiences! We try to promote a work hard / play hard atmosphere, and couldn’t be more proud of the motivation and positive attitude of everyone on our team! We try to make sure each employee feels like a part of the Greenway family, and we are always excited to hear how we’re doing. We are thrilled that you have been able to jump in as a new developer and make real-time impacts to our cutting-edge products that are leading the industry and helping to make healthcare better. We're really excited that you are benefiting from our company and department on-boarding. We are proud of our extensive training program, and the opportunities for promotion and career advancement that it provides. We have done comprehensive analysis to ensure that we offer a competitive pay rate for every market and we supplement it with perks and benefits, as well as rewards for our top performers. We try to pick the best healthcare plan for our employees, but we know that it isn’t always the best in every situation. If our healthcare plan isn’t fitting your specific situation, please feel free to reach out to your talent management business partner to get more information on how to get the most out of your benefits. Thanks again for the feedback!
