Pros

Musician friendly environment. A great way to be in touch with your musical community. Loads of gear to play with and you get to talk about gear and music all day.

Cons

For me, division of labor. Sales associates are also tasked with maintenance of their departments. Seems simple enough, but kind of tricky when expected to also help customers, answer the phone and generate more sales. Also, since Bain Capitol has taken over, salaries have dropped and individuality is being discouraged in favor of more by the book standardized approaches. When I started, it felt like working for a local business that was in touch with the community. It is increasingly becoming less personal and more like WalMart or Target.
