Pros

The best part of my experience were my in store colleagues, but this can obviously vary by location and personalities.

Cons

Pay is not great and gets worse every year. My store had a first year tax preparer as manager this season (she did a great job but was unhealthily stressed) because the TP's with 15+ years of experience refused the position because it pays so poorly for all the stress and work required. IF you meet the store goal you get a bonus but no additional hourly pay beyond your base TP rate for the season. Training was rushed and not comprehensive for support staff. Lots of corporate runaround and requirements that are superfluous and waste a lot of time at the store level. Upper management (district particularly) were subpar and I really disliked the competitive and negative management styles. Just generally not the most appealing organizational culture.

Pros

Location, training, flexibility, great office culture.

Cons

They don't consider some of there long time temps for permanent positions very often. I worked of and on seasonally from 1992-2010 and was never able to get on permanently but was always good enough for the season.
