Pros

Good office atmosphere between co-workers. It varies between offices, but overall the company does a decent job at hiring good people. Fluctuates from fast to slow-paced throughout the week, so it's never monotonous. The company allows for a flexible schedule, which is perfect for students.

Cons

Clients can come in or call already upset (usually because of the IRS) and blame H&R Block for their problems. As a CSC it is your duty to be the front representation of the company, so you take the brunt of client complaints. As the face of the company, it is important to never look bored or like you have nothing to do, which can be difficult when the day becomes slow. In my experience my manager would get upset with me for having nothing to do, even after restocking the entire office.

Pros

Lots of opportunity to move around the organization from field roles to corporate roles.

Cons

In seven years, there were five different CEOs. Constantly changing vision made it hard to know what success looks like as a field leader

Pros

This company has franchises in at least 4 states

Cons

They cheat their employees out of bonuses, require them to work overtime, but will not acknowledge them or pay them overtime. They also refuse to buy office supplies and tell you to pay for them out of your own pocket if you need them, require you to sometimes hold you paycheck so it won't bounce, and cheat clients out of money by excessively overcharging. They refuse to pay employees for training. They refuse to offer more the $7.25 min wage regardless of experience or tenure. They say they will pay a bonus, but find ways to cheat them out of that as well.
