Pros

Culture: The culture at HackerEarth is made by your colleagues. Everyone liked their immediate teams because they worked closely together. However, this has changed drastically after remote working. But keep in mind that your management has little to do with how fun you have at work. So if you’re fun, you’ll like it here. Growth: Fairly decent challenges to overcome professionally here. You can grow professionally a lot if you put in the work. However, expect no help from management. They will throw you at the deeper end of the pool, if you survive, you’re in. If not, you’re kicked out on performance reasons.

Cons

Appreciation: Occasional-to- little appreciation here. Unless you talk about your work and effort loudly and often, the management will have little to no visibility into the hard work you put in. You will occasionally see some veterans who will blow their own trumpet and rally around appreciation and influence. Steer-clear from such people. You will have to fight for your promotion and you’ll be harassed long and hard before they make it official. Money: Abysmal. For the amount of work you do, you can easily get 30-50% more outside. The company is extremely frugal. The company will take any chance to save money. Either by rolling out an intern role instead of full time or by deferring your pay hikes. The replacements are not hired until the team starts complain about mental health issues. This is the worst thing about this company Security: In the last few years, the company has gone through massive org restructures. Every year entire teams get replaced by new people. The average tenure is 1-2 years. It’s a small company with not enough depth in career. So, your management is okay with you leaving after 12-18 months. The attrition touched 60% while I was there. Start looking out after a year. HR: Laughable. Incompetent. Non-existent. The best they can do for you is acknowledgement of your woes and phony sympathy. Is often seen gossiping about people. Yet to meet a person who had a smooth exit process. Your full and final payment will be messed up for sure.

It's unfortunate to see this feedback. As a Company we have always been open to feedback, owned up very proudly to the good things that we do for our people, and also on the mistakes that we might have made, and take corrective actions on it so that it doesn't repeat again. This feedback doesn't feel genuine. Please do reach out to us so that we can talk about this to clarify more.

Pros

Nothing as such. People come, finish their work and go back.

Cons

Many from the top management and most of my colleagues have left, there is no culture and no trust left. We miss Vivek around in the office. Hiring is never done wrong what goes wrong is the management building a team and culture which they have failed miserably in. The so called culture and values of hackerearth is a big myth. No one cares over here for the employees. They take a lot of feedbacks and lot of promises are made to work on them but nothing is done. Everyone is good at giving false promises over here including Mr CEO.

Thanks for your feedback. It is disheartening to know that you've not had a good experience wrt our culture and team as we've invested a lot of time, care and effort to make us what we are today - bold, passionate , energetic, quirky and a supportive bunch. We do believe in a culture where in we promote openness and transparency as well ; while we aren't perfect today , but we do try hard at it and we are committed. And, we are working on how to better inform employees of the work that is being done at an org level for all employees. Thanks for taking the time out to write this , this really helps.
