Pros

Creativity of staff Relationships you can build Willingness to try new things, but lack of stomach to stick it out Funding for innovation Shift to online sales

Cons

Cult of personality Politicized leadership Subject to the whims of Wall Street No resilience to macro pressures Reliance on Asia for everything that matters Short-sighted vision, no long-term strategic vision Smaller, nimbler competition beating them with new product/brand ideas Short-sighted staff cuts (repeatedly) to meet shareholder demands Tired Board Cut-and-run mentality on new products Haven't introduced a truly new and successful brand in FOREVER Flat-footed supply chain Illogical decision-making No heart beneath the veneer when it matters most

Caveat Emptor!

Pros

Christmas week vacation. Read the reviews and ask yourself this: what does it say about an organization when most positive comments reference time away from the job.

Cons

Leadership style that mirrors the Presidential political landscape of the past four years in more ways than one. Note the tenor of reviews written by line management, particularly from marketing, versus new employees, support staff or obvious plugs from the company. The CEO is the external face of the company for Wall Street, spending time and dwindling resources on projects such as Battleship, Transformers 2-5, GI Joe 1-3 and unfortunately numerous others. Jem, anyone? Actual day-to-day 'do this and do that' rule closely resembles a cult of personality. Clique central! The culture is nightmarish and HR is of little value and complicit in perpetuating bad behavior. Too many employees crying in the hallways as a result. Also note the lack of gender, racial, ethnic and religious diversity across the company, particularly in leadership positions. Shameful. In some ways, the reviews on this site illustrate a glaring juxtaposition. One one hand, you can be shielded from the whims of top executives and the worst of the culture if you work in a support role. I'm sure life isn't as miserable in IT, finance, packaging, HR, etc. Many of them actually have time for lunch and aren't emailing until 10:30pm. And you'll see this in those reviews. On the other hand, work in mid to senior levels in marketing or design and it's a very different world. Read the reviews and study the trends. Choose wisely.

Company Headed Towards Major Downturn

Pros

Good Benefits, good pay, good discount on toys

Cons

In a year where the toys industry is experiencing its biggest sales yet (2020), Hasbro is not seeing the same upswing. Employees are overworked and don't feel like their voice is heard. Management is extremely political and only want "yes" people. HR dictates who gets promoted/laid off and is very cliquish. Hasbro is facing a dangerous culture where they think they are the best of the best and don't value outsider input from anyone who didn't grow up at Hasbro. This close mindedness will lead to their downfall. There's also a lot of bullying amongst the teams that HR is ok with.
