Pros

Healthedge.com is in Healthcare products. Its start up venture. Healthedge best part is location which is in Burlington, MA. Office is clean and neat. Salary is competitive. Parking is free. You have stock options and get some shares but they are not in profit. They are achieving Break Even point so shares is no use for you. Health insurance is above average and you need to pay for personal insurance. Work is challenging and lot of micro management to get work done. You may learn lot of new things. Work domain is healthcare on high end technology. They have performance review after 5 years. I was working there for more than 2 years we always have review meeting it helps a lot in technical skill improvement.

Cons

They don't contribute in 401K. Time off is big pain. Don't think to take vacation more than a week. Office facility: Bring your own Cups/glass/Salt/spoons /Paper from your home. This thing they cant afford. Management always in Air. You never know whats going on in company. Do they really have client or not :(. Some teams are bad shape. In my team my Manager was that friendly. When working with other managers some Leads and manager are really horrible. They get personal very often. Smile and friendly environment. is rare. I specially felt bad for contractors not at all good treatment. Human Resource is missing from company. No policies in general. If you think that rule then that's new policy. Co-ordination and communication missing. Work from home is not allowed so it may be big impact on some parents.

Pros

There are some good people there working under really horrible conditions. Top Management skills are missing. The COO was just replaced and has been given a chair next to the door. The Board is made up of venture capital firms to whom money is owed. Stock options are worthless. They have not made a solid sale in 18 months. The Board is extremely nervous. The positive aspect about the software is also its weakness. Flexible business rules which results in over complex configurations which do not work. The technical direction folks are completely clueless about HIPAA compliance, EDI and ETL technologies.

Cons

In April 2014, of 250 current employees - 70 were let go. Those not let go, have been leaving on their own. The company is waiting for the magic unicorn (large sale to a BCBS chapter) to save them. Not realizing that this would be the equivalent of catching a 1000 lb tuna in a row boat.

Pros

The business unit I worked with had excellent team members - smart people, extremely passionate about healthcare.

Cons

-No interest in diversity, equity and inclusion. Their diversity initiatives were employee-started and employee-led. They finally tweaked the title of a People Leader to include "Diversity". No clarity on how the person's lived experiences and training and development prepared them for this new role. -Poor handling of conflict and managers with poor people and team management skills. -Poorly designed professional development - no internal ladder structure and hence no framework for promotion. -Poor handling of layoffs (very, very poor and very traumatizing). -Compensation was just OK for the location and the amount of work expected. -Limited transparency around operational decisions and how they translate to business unit OKRs and KPIs. If anyone ever asks you to fill a spreadsheet about your tasks, GET READY TO RUN!

Thank you for your feedback, and so sorry you were unhappy with the way the layoffs were handled. A reduction in force is never easy, and we held several training sessions to ensure messaging was streamlined and communicated. With regard to diversity, we hold monthly DEI sessions that can be employee-led or are hosted by a DEI company. Our DEI scores in employee engagement surveys have been high, but of course we can always do better.
