Awesome Company

Pros

The company truly gives one the opportunity to move up from the ranks of agent to management in just a few years' time, it loves to promote from within. I've had several agents who have gone from agent to trainer or supervisor in short order. It's also a remote/work from home opportunity. The income you can make is unlimited, as long as you put in the work. It's a great place to work!

Cons

Constant changes can sometimes become a bit overwhelming for agents not used to the ever-changing Medicare or insurance industry.

Pros

Hourly pay from day one / company pays for all the equipment and licensing / OK commissions / good structure and support which some feel is micromanagement but it is also very clear expectations and a winning formula if followed / if not doing well but working hard, they keep paying your base salary and shift you around to other divisions to get more experience instead of getting rid of you / $50K - $55K realistic if you are mediocre but more if you are good and can choose less base pay with higher commissions. Busy in season when you can make extra money with more sales and overtime. Overall a good job with a level of job security and a decent income.

Cons

$50K - $55K if you are average and hard to get into the top 30% to make $75K plus. If you are that good, there are other companies where the earning potential is better - HOWEVER, not sure about working conditions and training at the competition and if they pay for lic and equiment as HealthPlanOne does. The company can assign you to another division and you have no say in it. You could get a better position for more money or they could put you to do all outbound calls with very little potential for commissions if they feel that you need more experience. Trouble is that is NOT how you get more experience selling, since there is very little opportunity to make a sale doing outbound calls. Very busy in season with a lot of sometimes mandatory overtime and often no time for breaks, but you make more money. Off seasons there is little more than base salary unless you are in higher tier sales, meaning you get better leads. Off season is a lot of cold calls, which is never fun, but they pay you for it with decent base salary. I don't consider these true "Cons" - there is no perfect job. This is an established company and you will pretty much know for sure what you will be getting and what your job is going to be, Expectations are set very clearly. If you work hard, you should succeed. Not for those who are nitpicking. Pretty secure job with good training and decednt income. No misteries, no misleading recruiting scams, you get exactly what you signed up for.

Not the best

Pros

Pro's are dependent on what company you got contracted with.

Cons

Training is insufficient, they will acknowledge that they're aware and apologize, but not do anything about it. Supervisors all have different information and none of them align, so you may be told one thing by one supervisor only to find out they were wrong by another. Commission and bonuses change and sometimes without sufficient time to meet metrics. (ex. They will tell you that to qualify for a bonus last month you must have completed XYZ, but there's nothing you can do about it since the month has already passed.)

Pros

Training is in depth and is spread over a reasonable amount of time. They want to make sure that you are prepared for the job. The only other benefit is working from home.

Cons

The base pay is very low. I was told this was a sales position, however, it is primarily a transfer program. I am required to try to transfer the client to a local field agent before I am able to assist with any applications. Basically, giving my money away unless the field is unavailable.

Pros

Really like working with my manager and team. Pinnacle was always a great time and reward. Learned a lot there.

Cons

no pay on ancillary's with some carriers, raises are only .50 which after 7 years means you only make 3.50 more than when you started. Not much at all. The only time you get really good commissions is during AEP the rest of the year your commissions are between 200-600 just depending and that is from a top seller stand point. The better you sell the more calls you get which is what you want until you realized they are just rerouting Customer Service calls to you and you will be penalized on your commission with out a certain percentage of conversion. They over hire right before AEP and rarely offer Overtime. Call dumping is definitely a big issue.

Pros

Fair Supervisors Good Time Off

Cons

Disorganized: most of the time supervisors didn’t know about changes or fixes within the company, a lot of short notices. Supervisors rarely had time for consistent coachings only for mandatory team meetings. Upper management wasn’t ever transparent
