Pros

They do have the best craftsmanship in their product. Everything is meticulously made and when you leave the company you become jaded of price point and can't see other luxury brands the same. You will compare everything else to Hermès and it will disappoint. Hermès has the best quality in leather. Not only is the price point amazingly high but the clientele you begin to work with is nothing like other brands. These are the top 1% clients that will almost always be loyal and come back to you for the birkin and Kelly. They really do take care of you in a sense of stocks, employee sales, good hourly, and they also flew us out for the NY family reunion for 3 days. I was also sent to Beverly Hills for silk training. I was also sent to do watch training.

Cons

It gets rather political with the approval of the birkin and Kelly bags. It is stressful because the demand is out there but you have to push to sell other categories in order to get an approval on a bag. You are also fighting product with your fellow colleagues. Your life is based around work because you will have to come in on days off for client appointments. They guilt trip you when you ask to take a personal or a sick day. It is unfortunate that it is stressful because the market for these handbags are highly desirable. They expect you to have a Birkin and Kelly mix ratio under 20%.

Pros

You get to work at the top of the chain when it comes to retail.

Cons

There's a lot of favoritism amongst management and certain employees. If you're a "favorite" then you have nothing to worry about, however, if you're on the other end of the spectrum, you won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I worked there for over a year, and was good at my job--I gave it my all, and it wasn't good enough. I was even being harassed by another colleague for no reason simply because she felt intimidated by me and did not like me and I constantly reported it, I had proof and constantly gave the times and dates of when each event took place, nothing was ever done, I MEAN NOTHING. To my luck of course, my colleague was bffs with my manager, and although I had connections with corporate managers, I chose not to take that route and decided I needed to look elsewhere for a job. A few months later I found a better job, with better benefits, and salary. During my exit interview, they asked me for my "honest feelings" towards the job, and I said exactly what I had been saying from the beginning, there is nothing but favoritism, lack of professionalism, and no one is there to help you; the more you speak up on what is wrong, the more they try to bury you. I am only speaking on my department, because the others I got along with very well.

Pros

Used to be an amazing company to work for. Years ago male employees could wear any color dress shirt to express themselves but now it's only white.

Cons

Where to begin? Company instituted a minimum for sales specialists depending on which floor you worked on. They are trying to promote cross selling by useless product knowledge trainings that are a waste of time. New policies resemble a police state where the employee signs off of everything via computer. If one of those rules are broken, probable termination may result. Managers are of no help, some stay in their office all day shopping online and refuse to assist irate clients. Lots of favoritism exist and if you are not in the inner circle you will not be advancing.
