Pros

THEE best travel benefits in the industry. The "Go Hilton" travel program is unmatched. I traveled more while working with HGV than I ever have. There are some leaders in the Call Transfer dept who make you look forward to coming to work everyday. One of those people being Dontrel B. Best supervisor anyone could've ever asked for. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Call Transfer. Those are the only 2 things I miss about HGV.

Cons

For the most part, HGV is a company that cares about it's shareholders. The management is just that. Management. There are no LEADERS, and their only concern is THEIR paycheck. The "leaders" on the Learning and Development team won't actually develop its own members. I was with HGV for nearly 4 years. 18 mis in call transfer (beware of the MANY comp plan changes), and 2 years with L&D. My last 2 years on that team were unrewarding, financially and professionally. It was mentally, physically and emotiinally exhausting and quite frankly, downright miserable. When I asked my Sr. Manager for mentorship, so that I could become who I wanted to become in the company, she told me to "Ask someone on the African American Resource Team." She literally told me to go ask a black person to mentor, because she didn't think anyone on OUR team was a good fit. I felt so defeated. And stuck. I used to love that company, but poor leadership changes things. They discriminate... And I don't care how diversified the company is, there are certain things that some people can get away with, that others, mainly POC cannot. Hair color for example. I literally stayed as long as I did for the travel benefits, and that's quite sad. Once HGV became its own company, and was no longer a part of Hilton Worldwide, it just went downhill. I used to enjoy going to work everyday. I was PROUD to work for Hilton Grand Vacations. After my last 2 years though, I don't think you could pay me to recommend this company to ANYONE. Go work for Hilton Worldwide. They care about their employees. They care about the glue that holds the company together. HGV does not. At least not the call center side.

Pros

They have really good benefits.

Cons

-Terrible pay. $8.25/hr plus commission -You must hit a certain amount of sales for the week in order to make commission (My quota was 12, so if I only makde 11, then I don't get paid commission at all for that week. ) -They talk about how important "teamwork" is, but send you home early if you don't make sales for the day because you are considered dead weight and they want to hit their monthly bonus. -They play extremely loud music, which makes it difficult to hear the customer on the phone. -Supervisors and Team Leads are constantly yelling in the background causing tons of customer complaints. -Extremely unprofessional!

1. This company specializes in favoritism. 2. Quid Pro Quo 4. Management does not care about the lack of engagement among its employees. 5. Employees are promoted based on "who you know" not based on qualifications, skillset, experience or education. 6. Not an equal opportunity employer nor promoter. 7. Individuals in management are uneducated and will let employees knows that having a degree does not mean anything. 8. Company is flooded with wrongful dismissal lawsuits. 9. Management is not trained in soft skills to understand how to communicate with employees in an escalated situation. 10. Employees are constantly stressed over things they shouldn't be eg.
