A great place for some to work, but not all

Pros

As a large-scale organization, it provide great benefits for its employees. My department was perfect for anyone with a family, as they very much understand work/life balance and family emergencies. They have an on site day care which many people took advantage of.

Cons

For those in the administrative side of running the hospital, there seems to be a bit of infighting and politics. Certain departments won't play nice with others. Certain department heads have a vendetta against other heads and make things difficult and punish those in that department. Some meetings I have seen a lot of peacocking and unnecessary pettiness.

Pros

Hoag has a good culture.; all staff are very nice and always helpful. The best part is that its so close to the beach and the weather is nice.

Cons

A lot of transistions are occurring and management is not flexible when it comes to change. Innovations in technology are growing, however, Hoag is taking a phased approach in moving forward. Which then puts more stress on the community.
