Pros

- Opportunity to participate with some innovative healthcare institutes - Average compensation and benefits

Cons

- Very strict/ militant office culture created by Chief Digital Officer (dress code and hours are highly enforced) - Not remote friendly - Incredibly understaffed team with unreasonable project workload and impossible timelines - Lack of structure and process due to entire team being brand new (previous marketing team was completely "reorganized" and replaced by new hires) - Very high attrition (new hires and managers are resigning after just a few months) - Old school corporate mentality

Work Life Balance worst in Industry

Pros

Isolation work environment. If you like working alone along with the extra time wasting of driving into the office everyday.

Cons

99% of meetings on Microsoft teams locked in your cubicle or office. Worst than pre pandemic work environment. Drive in to speak thru the computer. Add that you can’t ever wear jeans unless the CEO allows it. So forget casual Fridays. Finally, the parking lot at the Costa Mesa Redhill location doesn’t have enough parking spaces at the right normal car space. Invest in a mini cooper or Fiat.

Pros

New and well-maintained facilities, including office buildings. There are some very nice people that are passionate about what they do.

Cons

- Very limited remote/hybrid options. You will likely not get the option. 99% of the workforce is expected to be onsite Monday-Friday. - No Casual Fridays. Business professional Monday-Friday. Very strict on dress code adherence. Witnessed someone get anonymously reported for blue hair. - Poor PTO and holiday benefits. You get 28 days of PTO, but you will have to use that PTO for all holidays, including federal holidays. - Very conservative and traditional office/business mindset. Think the 80s and 90s. No modernization as most execs have been with Hoag all their careers and have not experienced other organizations. - Poor employee appreciation. The atmosphere is "You are lucky to work at Hoag" not "Hoag is lucky to have you". - At times there is a weird cult fascination around the hospital's founder. - Excessively snotty organization which is shocking for healthcare. Big emphasis on thousand-dollar ticket galas and golf tournaments. Very "We are the best in the world" but not in a good way.
