Friendly but Misleading Staff

Pros

Working with clients and most co-workers is an amazing experience.

Cons

Scheduling is a nightmare - At hire, I was told I would have to work one weekend day a month and provided an availability schedule. The reality is I worked every weekend one day a week and every other weekend all weekend. -Additionally schedules are rarely done the week before you are scheduled to work and then often changed. Communication is a one way street - I actually was told by another caregiver that my client was no longer needing care during my shift time and was never informed by office staff. When I asked office staff for clarification, none was given. As a single parent it was so discouraging: when I had the hours they needed they rushed me in to get started, once those hours weren't needed I couldn't pick up a different shift to save my life - even with a positive employee evaluation. I am so confused!

Pros

Nice clients. Started working in 2013 and those office staff were really helpful and worked as a team. Monthly in services. Flexible hours. I loved working there until about the end of 2015 when they had a big turnover with the office staff.

Cons

Low pay. Left the company in 2016 because the new group of staff were very rude, lied a lot and I couldn't get along with them. The Scheduler used to be awesome, but she started lying with the new group. Will leave out important details about clients that the caregivers need to know because they felt if the caregivers knew everything, they will refuse the client. Office staff now is rude and disrespectful at time.

Pros

The job itself is wonderful

Cons

I was promised 20 hours per week when I was hired on but I am lucky to get a single shift every week. This is after completing a perfect performance review and a raise, so there really is not an excuse to be hiring more people when you cant even give people you already have enough hours.
