Pros

The people are brilliant. There is a spirit – a positivity and resilience. The way the company recovered from a really tough period is testament to that. Homeserve always seems to attract people who are friendly and fun Some really strong senior leaders. The level of communication and openness is brilliant. They keep their messages clear and simple and you feel like you know where the business is going and how you can make a difference. Opportunities for progression. Progression is less formal and structured than other companies, but if you are proactive and ambitious there is no reason at all you can’t get on. Genuine customer focus. Lots of companies say it but don’t live it. Homeserve probably used to be one of them – it’s definitely not anymore. Potential for growth. The core business is sound and there’s a lot more potential and lots of good ideas for growth. Culture. The culture is improving all the time. There is opportunity for everyone to have a voice, and we have a great set of values which people really seem to be buying into and are visible each day.

Cons

Complexity. There are so many moving parts - which can create challenges for staff and customers. It can also create challenges for cross-function working Some people just don’t like it. The Homeserve way is not for everyone – you’re certainly expected to work hard and take ownership. But in my experience people tend to figure out quite quickly it’s not for them and move on We could be smarter at times. There is a balance between the entrepreneurial, fast-paced, can-do approach – and a more considered, focused approach. We’re a bit biased to the former at the moment.

Pros

There has been a real focus on values over the last year or so, from how we treat our customers to how we treat each other. This has been the foundation for HomeServe leaving the issues with fines and misselling firmly in the past. The last year feels like the best year of the company so far. The way the company is being structured by the Chiefs/Directors leaves me feeling very optimistic for the future.

Cons

There's still work to be done with processes - however, this is being worked on and improved on by the day. A few people still not onboard with the general optimistic spirit of the company - but won't be long before they turn around!

Pros

HomeServe has undergone a major transformation and is now a leading home assistance business. We obsess about delivering a world class effortless Customer and People (employee) experience. Both are underpinned by our 2020 strategy and a very clear Customer and People Charter. I would highly recommend HomeServe as an employer of choice.

Cons

We are working hard to improve our web recruitment application experience - this will be upgraded shortly and will deliver an enhanced candidate journey.
