Pros

HomeServe is a place to learn, develop and grow. The leadership team are approachable, hands on, dedicated and true leaders, not hidden away in large offices. The change in focus to getting it right for the customer means that it is a place where you believe in the company and the service that you are providing and staff have the power to go above what is expected when it is the right thing to do. Replicating this focus internally for the employees will ensure that HomeServe continues to be a great place to work and will continue to grow in the right way. HS gives the staff great benefits that has a real recognition scheme which encourages a "Thank You" culture.

Cons

Although this is not expected from management it is easy to slip into working long hours and weekends in order to deliver what is required which can impact on your work/life balance.

Pros

i've worked here for 9 years now, through the good and bad times. Where as before any changes always seemed a bit like lip service, the culture shift over the last few years seems absolutely real, focussing both on the Customer and the People. Although there have been lots of changes in more senior management, these have happened for the right reasons. For those of us who have been here a long time, I believe it's the first time there are real career progression opportunities.

Cons

Some parts of the campus are tired; the car park needs re-surfacing, the canteen can be a bit hit and miss; but there have been lots of changes in the buildings that are really helping

Pros

Great atmosphere and you can really feel the cultural change. Having worked at HomeServe for over 7 years I have been through some bad times, but the company has been turned around and now has a truly bright future. Salary is reasonable, hours are OK.

Cons

Some work still needs to be done on internal processes to cut through some of the red tape, but this is a hangover from our low risk appetite and I don't expect many companies are completely streamlined.
