Pros

1. Relatively high starting salary, even without experience. 2. Some of upper management stay around when you have to stay onsite until midnight for EOM. 3. Some colleagues were enjoyable. 4. It’s a large plant so there’s plenty of places to meet people if they aren’t in a bad mood because of workload. 5. Ask for trainings, they will give it to you.

Cons

1. You will work 24/7. You will work when you get home. You will get calls continuously about orange cards and if you don’t review and sign within ~10 minutes then your manager and all of upper management will know about it and now it is your fault that you are holding up production even though all of their WIP is weeks behind and barely made just in time for delivery (not even considering if they meet the specification or not, which they probably don’t.) 2. You will for sure work horrible hours the last week of every month because EOM is near and submissions for deviated parts are being submitted nearly every hour. You will be onsite until midnight and expected to be back the next day at 8 am at the latest. 3. You get like 7 days of vacation. You work nearly every holiday. Yes Christmas, Thanksgiving, and NYE (might not be in person, but remotely). 4. Sexism and racism in the workplace (amongst colleagues and management). There are entitled men and women here. HR does nothing about it. Management did nothing about it. I personally had three instances were I was singled out and there were no actions besides a reminder about an anti racism and non threatening environment memo circulated. 90% of the office is made up of White men with the other 10% comprised of White women, Black women, Black Men, Asian man, Asian woman, and a Hispanic man. 5. There’s was no real mentorship in the department I was in. My boss was new and did not want to learn anything about what we did to understand our struggles in the company. 6. Work is repetitive. Not real engineering. 7. Upper management will try to persuade you to stay by offering you another job in another department and when you agree, you then have to do your original job until you get a replacement on top of the new job you were given. 8. Offices are literally a mess. Holes in carpets. Black mold. Asbestos. Bathrooms are gross. 9. Parking is not great. 10. There aren’t any celebrations to raise moral. You get a dry biscuit for engineering week. Just one day for the week. 11. Inventory day sucks because you have to find every casting that has an active router on a Saturday. 12. BOPs aren’t followed nor enforced ~70% of the time, other ~30% is roughly being followed. 13. DMMs are a waste of time when the manager makes their team go instead of themselves. Team members have to do the work, the best thing management can do is just sit there and come back to the team and regurgitate what was said.

Pros

Good company and benefits. 2nd shift team members were pleasant to work with.

Cons

Poor management. Manager sat in his office most of the days and demands information from his team so he can bring it to the management table to get credit. My manager was undereducated in leadership skills. He was unable to do Excel, PowerPoint, or put presentations together for meetings. Unable to do any discipline write ups. Bad mouth everyone behind close door including his boss Val at the the time. Every year was a fix raise not by percentage. Too much favoritism to his low performers that buddy buddy with him. Hoss, time you get a real job and earn your money. Stop faking it until you’re making it.

Pros

The pay is decent for practically doing nothing all day. Paid holidays and 13 vacation days are a plus.

Cons

You’ll work constantly. They say they “offer overtime” but leave out the part where it’s mandatory, and if you don’t come in it WILL count against you and get you wrote up. Do not expect a work-life balance. Some management is amazing, but you usually don’t get to see them as much as you’ll come to face the ones who search for reasons to write you up or just try to make you miserable. I’ve watched people quit left and right over both of these, if they’re not fired first. If you like constantly feeling like you’re stuck in high school with all the drama, this place is perfect. They really do not care about you. Some may, but most do NOT. They just care about the product and money. It’s really not worth the stress for the money. They search for reasons to fire people when they can barely keep the people they have. Truthfully, from the mouths of SEVERAL employees who have been here for 3+ years, in the past year it’s gone downhill and a lot of people are miserable having to work 48+ hours a week to meet unachievable numbers.
