YEARLY PROFIT SHARING BONUSES!

Pros

Profit sharing comes around at first week of December, look for at least more than 10% of your yearly gross. Owner personally hands you the check, very cool. Overtime, weekly extra days of work (Saturday and Sundays) if you're in to that.

Cons

Positions per hour are below current market specially for production workers in the line. If you're workaholic, no family, no life partner, no high school diploma, no plans, no money management and like to work in production lines, this is for you. Abundance of production line workers volunteering for weekly extra days of work Saturday and Sunday is never ending. Machines constantly being repaired because there is no downtime for preventive maintenance. If there is a day for downtime, little to no maintenance volunteers are found, I understand, these guys needs to be off too, they are here constantly in the weekend to cover production. To be promoted, you need to apply for the position and go to whole interview process like anyone else outside the company. You have the same chances applying somewhere else.

Pros

Hunter as a whole seems like a fantastic place to work no matter what department you are in. I see happy employees here, and I see people staying for a much longer time than what I've seen at any other company I've worked for. Speaking specifically of the software development (mob programming) department, it is absolutely extraordinary. It is a phenomenal situation where you can learn and grow a ton, and with a strong focus on quality and software craftsmanship, you will likely write your very best code. Every developer serves as both mentor and mentee on a constant basis. There is a strong focus on leveling-up every single person on the team. I cannot possibly recommend any other company higher.

Cons

No work place is a complete panacea, but Hunter Industries comes closer than I ever thought possible. Mob programming is certainly not for everyone, so you should consider that aspect carefully. If you want to grow as a developer, I can't imagine a better paradigm in which to do so.
