Pros

People are great, very friendly and welcoming. The training was very knowledgeable. You make awesome money during the busy season.

Cons

Typically don't have enough employees or they understaff for shifts resulting in long hours. Because the hotel I'm at is a Union, you don't get rewarded based on the hard work you but based on your tenure. So people who have been there for a long time or is full time get better shifts than those in the lower hierarchy/part time.

Pros

I worked in the Grand Lodge Casino at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe. The money was really good. I personally got along with all of my coworkers who became a family to me. Usually it was a really fun atmosphere to work in and most of the locals that visit are wonderful.

Cons

There were four different food and beverage managers in the three years that I worked there. We had countless assistant managers, most of which was their first time in a management role so they were clueless. The managers treat the casino like a red-headed step-child (sorry for the cliche). There was a lot of drama between my coworkers. Sometimes we had to deal with angry drunks or mean customers.

Pros

Meeting new and interesting people all the time. Money is good when you can make it. Perks with Hyatt hotels (room discounts, etc..)

Cons

Inconsistent management Slow times in the hotel make it hard (Money is not always dependable) Bad food in the employee caf Scheduling based on seniority
