Pros

They have good medical benefits. I also liked the Monday Morning Meeting, and the various health challenges and events they had for employees.

Cons

There is a strong feeling of clique-type behavior among lower management that is very hard to overcome. The company will expect you to give everything you have, but will treat you with no equal courtesy. I moved to Ohio with no relocation assistance and began looking for a house. My lead didn't like it if I had to leave early on a few days for that, though I always made sure to complete my work and make up any missed time as well. Once I bought my house, I put even more effort into being the kind of worker they expected of me by coming in early and staying late every day. It was made very clear to me that no matter what I did, it would never please my lead, and my manager blindly accepted anything my lead said. I tried to go to HR to resolve the issue, but after that, it was only a matter of time before they found the first reason they could to fire me. I have never worked for a company that treated me so poorly while working for them, expected so much of me in return, and fired me in the most unprofessional way they could.

Pros

The office culture was amazing. People had been working together for 10-20 years and through their relations and motivation developed the kind of strong work ethic that other companies could only dream of. The company work hours are very flexible with full-time remote work as an option, allowing people to work on their own schedule as necessary. The middle management was pleasant to work with and seemed to genuinely care about people who worked under them.

Cons

The company is owned by a private equity firm that seems content with running the company into the ground for short-term gains. Earlier this year, over 1000 of the staff, mostly comprising of older, more experienced developers and low-to-mid level management, were unceremoniously laid off with little rhyme or reason, causing productivity to grind to a halt and leading to significant staff shortages. Plans to outsource jobs to India do not seem to be going well. I do not see a future for this company in its current state. For people who aren't concerned with this, the low pay may convince them to look elsewhere.

Pros

This company is great for a recent graduates that lives at home and are just looking for experience. The healthcare plan is great for those that do not need to go to the doctor besides annual checkups. Work life balance is great! There are times when you just can’t make it in because of family reasons and my manager is great about accepting last minute call offs. Many office perks that you just don’t find at other companies.

Cons

I have the same cons as most people that write here. 1. HR, if you are really taking the time to write fake reviews or even if you are having new employees write reviews as an onboarding task, shame on you. This is a place for honest feedback and if you are so disturbed by what you are reading that you feel the need to add positive fluff then fix it! 2. Employees are leaving, I don’t mean the second year people that are off to get a better paying job. I am talking about invested people that have made a difference at Hyland. That should be an eye opener for you. Theses waves of departments that leave, r&d teams, security, UX, imaging services(well they got laid off with no explanation to the company) is a sign that bad things are ahead. 3. Now that we have come back to Earth.. we need to look at what we are trying to accomplish as a company. Stop with the buzzwords and silly gimmicks at Community Live, what are we seriously trying to accomplish. 4. Some managers at Hyland aren’t the best, some are more worried about being friends with their staff than actually managing. Making tough calls for the betterment of Hyland. 5. Stop hiring immature, bro culture, unprofessional employees. Our culture has shifted. If you guys are cutting back on parties and events that formed our startup like culture then stop adding employees that match that same mentality. 6. There is really no reason to say this because it hasn’t changed, but pay sucks. Pay Sucks. 7. Health Care plan for families and people that actually needs it sucks.
