Pros

Good company for fresh graduates.

Cons

VERY low salaries. Upon my exit interview, I was given a counter offer of EXTRA 75 cents. Very disappointing and insulting to offer that.

Pros

Hyland was great for the opportunities, and the ability to work remotely. I met some great people here and it definitely furthered my career. The perks of being in the Cleveland office are nice as they have an onsite diner at each of the campus buildings, allowing you to easily walk over and grab lunch. The Monday Morning Meetings were something I always enjoyed watching!

Cons

The company has changed a lot since the acquisition of Perceptive, there seems to be a creeping-changing dynamic that just downright didn't really make it fun to work there anymore. Expect to work long hours and have to continually skip lunch if you're in any timezone other than Eastern; at times there was an utter lack of respect for my time on numerous occasions when I brought this issue up. To put it bluntly, it would downright feel like I was chained to my desk at my home office while I had to put in a 65 hour work week.

Pros

Hyland has a beautiful campus and a very laid back staff that generally ensures their contemporaries have everything they need to be happy outside of work. If you're brand new to the software industry, you'll probably find some decent opportunities.

Cons

They constantly limit career development or forward product momentum through nonstop cluelessness, so any career beyond three years is destined to plateau. Hyland also generally squanders any good will with staff by building a management to developer relationship that's toxic because of the massive divide in responsibility and compensation. It's tough to rank the entire organization, however, since senior staff and most teams maintain their own internal culture that could vastly differ from the rest of the organization. If you're looking for growth and consistency, Hyland probably isn't the place for you.
