Mostly bad with islands of good

Pros

Some managers are great. Pay can be quite good for the area if at or past technician level.

Cons

Even best work is often not stimulating. Mandatory overtime is common and unwarranted. Turnover in some departments is atrocious. Different managers will undercut each other’s projects to get ahead. No communication or cooperation between groups unless someone very high up gets involved. Managers claim credit for employees ideas. Many important things don’t happen until the CEO gets angry.

Pros

I would only recommend working at IPG Photonics if you are at the end of your rope and can't find a job anywhere else. The only pros of working at IPG is that their stock is high and they give you a bonus and raise every year.

Cons

Culture is odd and management is the pits! HR is inept. Lots of discourteous people and no morale. The Oxford office is in the middle of nowhere. The Marlboro office and has zero community and low energy.. No self-respecting person would want to work there. The company does not have annual reviews; therefore, the majority of employees are disengaged with their jobs because of lack of feedback.

Terrible Company

Pros

I can honestly say there was not one positive experience I had while working at IPG. From day 1 on the job I knew I had made a mistake.

Cons

Company culture is horrific. The employees don't care about the company and the company does not care about them. The parking lot is full of trash, people smoke everywhere and anywhere, the parking lot is so small it cannot accommodate all of the employees, there are little to no training opportunities, pay is low, demands are high and unrealistic.
