Pros

The work culture is great.

Cons

We just shifted our hybrid schedule to 4 days in the office, which is now more of a disparity with our remote folks. With all of the growth this year, raises were smaller, despite similar (if not stronger) performance, which doesn't feel great.

Pros

Coming from the curriculum/content development side of things, work culture is great, management is involved and helpful (but not micromanaging), pay is decent and there’s a lot of opportunity for growth! Coworkers are fantastic! I’ve had a really great time here and I’ve learned a lot. It’s a great stepping stone in my career in content production!

Cons

PTO and pay could be better, and we went from 2 days WFH to 1 day (I suspect it will eventually go to 0).

Pros

Some nice people here and there, decent work life balance, and relatively low stakes due to decent business outcomes. I would only choose IXL if you have absolutely no other options, or if you're more senior looking to settle in non-tech.

Cons

Zero sense of collaboration or good industry practices. New acquisitions except TPT retained nearly zero engineers. Fear-based culture keeps people from speaking up about issues. New hires are almost exclusively international graduates with Master's degrees from top schools, but in practice are incredibly incompetent and difficult to coach (which is why I suppose they didn't have any other choices). Despite trying to push new tech, code suffers from incredibly poor practices due to rubber-stamping PR culture. The few people that tried to do anything about it received backlash from management and have since departed the company. Leadership insists on getting a say on every new thing delivered to product, so we have almost zero autonomy. Poor compensation. Glad to be leaving soon.
