      I love the vision for children all over the world, to teach Language and Literacy and Mathematics to the children of the world.

      Cons

      After having a good year, financially, laid off 45 of their employees.

It was incredibly difficult to make decisions to let people go in November. However, we feel that in the long run, the company will be more balanced and we will have the right people in the right positions to help strengthen our educational programs, help more educators, and reach even more students.       Things are moving in a good direction

      Pros

      Don't let the other reviews steer you wrong! Bryan and Jeremy, the new co-presidents as of May 2018, have made a lot of important changes. Many of these changes have been needed for a long time and will help ensure the success of the company. Lots of people don't like change or haven't caught the vision that Bryan and Jeremy have, so they've made negative reviews. In reality, the company is going in a very good direction!

      Cons

      While the changes were necessary, the company is still adjusting to a new normal. That's caused some confusion and headache, but it will clear in time. The company also needs to improve its production processes.

      Lots of Changes, in the name of Innovation

      Pros

      - Work with some seriously cutting edge tech (still spreading across teams, but its getting there) - If you can deliver good code often, you are usually left to solve problems as you see fit - Trying to evangelize the tech community more through writing and open source - Benefits are reasonable (yes, they dropped the infinite sick time, but you got an extra week of PTO. This is what happens when employees abuse unlimited sick time, yeah it was bad) - Just bumped parental leave to 2 weeks, maternity leave was also increased but I dont remember what to

      Cons

      - We like to spend a lot of time navel-gazing about process and procedure - Interesting transition time as we move to the OKR model - Sometimes business urgencies aren't translated to employees effectively - We aren't super comfortable with shipping often and the minor churn that can happen with it
