Pros

Impinj is an undiscovered gem that I hope that many will discover soon. The company is building (owning) the RAIN RFID platform with software, hardware and firmware. Its a company which is filled with really great, friendly people who are interesting to talk to, about RFID or just about any topic. Its so fun to come to work every day....seriously. My favorite thing is that at lunchtime, people leave their desks and come to the large kitchen area and sit down together. Some play board games, some play trivia and it just feels good. You can sit down anywhere and feel welcomed. I believe that people are genuinely happy here and it shows. There a certain lightness and lift that you feel when you walk into our offices. And, many people have been here since the beginning which is a testament to our company! We are in a new space in South Lake Union and it's a beautiful light filled office with lots of open spaces, lots of windows and amazing views of South Lake Union, EMP, Space Needle, and the Olympics. We have snacks, unlimited PTO but mostly this place is awesome because the people are awesome and of course smart!

Cons

With all our windows, sometimes it gets a little cold in the office. And we have some healthy snacks so I feel guilty when I'm reaching for the Oreos.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and comments. Impinj certainly prides itself on its overall approach to pay and benefits, and your post touches on a few of them including the much-loved Bagel Fridays, and of course, others. You are correct that Impinj does not pay for parking. Rather, the company provides every staff member with a Green Transportation subsidy of $100 per month (usable for anything), a fully-paid ORCA card, and multiple van pool options. I regret that your experience was not more positive while you were with Impinj. We are, of course, fanatical about making Impinj a great place to work. If you would care to visit with me to share more details I am always happy to talk with an alumni. Sean (Sr HR Director)

Not a suitable place for women careers

Pros

Smart and talented people, company products are trending well with the Internet of Things technology.

Cons

Very male-centric culture. Women professionals are treated more like decorations. A woman needs to be subordinate to his male peers, in a lot of aspects. They don't value women, period. If you are woman with ambitious perspectives, do not go there.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective and comments. Of course, it is great to see the "Pros" you have listed, but my focus in responding is on the "Cons" and in particular your perspective on gender diversity at Impinj. Impinj takes diversity seriously and has made good progress working on its own and with other Seattle tech companies to actively embrace and drive diversity. Along those lines, in 2016 Impinj was pleased to announce its support and partnership with Ada Academy, sponsorship of three participants in EverwiseWoman, and its ongoing work with WiRL. As with any alumni, I invite you to visit with me personally about your experiences. It would have been great to do so and to be able to address your views while you were here, but even after-the-fact you can be part of making Impinj a phenomenal company, and I hope you will accept my invitation to do so.
