Slightly Amazing!!

Pros

Grand Rounds is a company that truly cares about their employees. While the motto work hard, play hard holds true with this company..it's because they demand nothing but the best for their patients. Their first value is "Patients Come First" and to fulfill that value they provide a very rewarding work environment to uphold it. Many employers do not understand that to provide the best service to your customers that it starts with your employees, but this company gets it!!

Cons

Long hours can be a norm to get things done.

Thanks for the feedback! You've hit on something I firmly believe in: if you want the customer, and in our case, the patient to have an exceptional experience, it starts with a great team and environment. I'm glad you're here, and I hope you find plenty of time for playing hard AND for rest and restoration too. Which is another key issue you hit on: maintaining balance so we can all be at our best as we help patients navigate through tough health care challenges. I welcome any thoughts you have here.

Pros

Joining Grand Rounds has been one of the most rewarding moves of my career. Coming to work each day is a treat, thanks to an amazing team who are hired not only for talent and drive, but for cultural fit as well. The people here are energetic, funny, kind, empathetic, and fervent believers in the company's mission to serve patients better. I have yet to encounter an ounce of ego or cynicism in any of my colleagues. The work environment is open and comfortable, with flexibility that enables an excellent work-life balance. There also seems to be ample room to grow and develop your career path within the company, thanks to encouraging and supportive senior management. I completely love the work I do, and wonder often how I got so lucky.

Cons

We're in a growth spurt, and the rapid pace of change is sometimes difficult to maneuver. Decision-making seems to involve more stakeholders than necessary, but this may be an indicator that opinions are valued among all staff, and not just senior management.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm most glad you love your work and the team, and I bet it shows in all that you do. I agree the pace can be overwhelming at times -- taking time to refresh and recharge are key. Opinions and leading at all levels are indeed highly valued. We also need to stay nimble in our decision-making as we grow, for a bunch of reasons including doing right by the patient, quickly. When you see an opportunity for more agility, please call it out.

Pros

Nothing is more rewarding than helping patients across the country. And at Grand Rounds I saw life changing care happen weekly. To me, that was more rewarding than fluffy perks, like team yoga.

Cons

Some of the early people came from Reputation.com, which has a poor culture/management (or so we speculated). For better or worse, it is a reference point for the decisions made here.
