Top-heavy and old fashioned, but trying to improve.

Pros

Great work life balance and amenities, relaxed culture, working in downtown Philly. Benefits are solid (obviously). Good training opportunities, great employee culture.

Cons

Top-heavy with management. Constantly bringing in outside "hired guns" while nearly every young employee with half a brain is out within their first 3 years to make twice as much elsewhere. Left with the "lifers" who don't want to lift a finger, and director-level personnel running around doing their own "grunt work" with little or no staff to manage.

Pros

Thorough training, good performance incentives, generous time off and holidays. Some advancement opportunities (I worked for a subsidiary, so there was more room to move up at the home office). Management makes it a priority to praise good performance frequently.

Cons

I had a problem with being penalized for unscheduled time off due to emergencies and illness. This was the company's general practice during my tenure with them. I understand that some people abuse the privilege; however, team members that have not should be given the benefit of the doubt.

Pros

decent benefit package, 37.5 hour work week, free continuing education for nurses

Cons

Incompetent people are promoted; no consequences to clerical staff who do not perform their jobs competently
