Pros

Great for time off. The environment is controlled chaos at best.

Cons

Some middle managers and directors can't be trusted. They have really lousy people skills. Due to the general incompetence of the management, the company has no choice but to pass on the costs that result from their bad business decisions to the customers in the form of higher rates and reduced benefits. The cost of healthcare lies not with the doctors or the hospitals, but with poorly run organizations such as this. The result of their bad decisions and lack of vision harms the healthcare industry and ultimately it is the American public that suffers for it. They are really lousy at Information Technology. They have no idea how to evaluate it, align it with strategic goals and roll it out with a minimal impact to the company. They really need to invest in and retain top talent. What little top talent they have, is over worked and undervalued. Many more have left. What's left, well....

Pros

Having come here from a competitor, my comparison is against them: great pay, great benefits, great work environment.

Cons

Some processes and systems need improvement but I'm confident that will come as the company grows.

Pros

IndependentnHealth is a reputable not-for-profit organization that is well known for supporting its local communities, as well as other nont-for-profit organizations; you can be proud to say that youre an associate there. IH generously offers professional growth courses that are scheduled during your work time thru their Learning Center; as well as countless opportunities to volunteer as a "Red Shirt" at IH sponsored charity events. In addition, IH associates are encouraged to promote a healthy lifestyle by participating in inncentive programs that reward healthy choices.

Cons

Although this is a regional company, serving a good percentage of the local residential/commercial populations, it is very 'corporate' oriented in such aspects of business: compliance regulations & requirements associated with privacy & confidentiality of protected health information, standard policies & procedures (re: paid time off, internal promotions, absence/tardiness, dress code, benefit eligibility, ect.). They recently redesigned the office structure in 3 out of their 5 buildings located within the corporate park, to reflect a more 'open' atmosphere by reducing personal desk space & using low partition walls, verses the higher ones that you usually see. Supervisors, managers & directors have ascending partitioning walls according to their title (Director=High walls; most privacy). This can be a big adjustment for someone who has never had experience working in this type of setting.
