Pros

work/life balance is decent, PTO accrual is generous, pay is decent for the work (not the highest on the market, not the lowest), benefits packages are great, DEI still valued and prioritized at a corporate level, several options for continuing education programs.

Cons

lots of issues with absent, uncaring, or abusive management, little to no recognition for hard workers and no accountability for slackers, pay raises do not match the standard market value in the area and do not come close to matching inflation, training is sorely lacking for new hires, good employees are stifled from growth opportunities to prevent them from leaving their current positions.

Pros

The few of us left are genuine good people still holding on

Cons

Iu health, anyone above floor management no one cares. Our managers seem like they are being pressed down to answer to a higher power than for the higher ups to listen to what is happening in the trenches. They don’t want to know nor does anyone care what is really happening. I’ve never been more sad for healthcare. There are still a few good ones left. But those are their own staff. The hospital has been completely consumed by travelers who does NOT care nor will they do what is best to take care of you or your well being. They will watch and let you suffer. The sad part is we have new nurses coming and wanting jobs with amazing hearts and personalities for this field but they are already being corrupted by the travelers who have no skin for that facility nor care. That is who is training their employees. It is just going to get worse. My fear of leaving is more of who is even going to be left to give love and compassion minute the knee of us left.

Pros

Salary, hours, paid time off accrual

Cons

Executive leadership has no idea of day to day work that takes place. Most directors have no idea of issues in the offices because they are spread too thin. They hear one side of the story and do no investigation of problems. HR is available by appointment only. We speak of value based care but when it gets down to it, the care has been taken out of the hands of the nurses, medical assistants and physicians and centralized to the point that patients have no idea who they are speaking with and no one takes time to weed through all of the cut and pasted useless information in the charts.
