Everyone I worked with was severely underpaid, especially considering the location (Naperville is not a cheap place to live) and the nature of the work. There was a bonus, but it was a slap in the face with how pathetically small it was. The annual raise was more of the same. Promotions came slowly, and your pay would not increase to a level similar to even someone starting fresh in that position would make.

This company is surviving on Mainframe Licenses that are dwindling. Massive cronyism and a large number of clickish toxic employees. They give 1 day notices and turnover is rampant. Quality employees leave. Leaving a lot of narrow minded management. They do not want advice and just want to protect themselves at the cost of the companies responsibilities'. They will pressure contractors to work for free and then blame them for management incompetence. Also, there are toxic employees that will sabotage your reputation for personal gain. They lack real experience of the IT world.
