Great benefits, low pay, not much opportunity for growth

Pros

It's a small company so you build close relationships with coworkers. Great benefits.

Cons

Not a lot of opportunity for growth. Pay is terrible. You don't ever get raises. You don't get recognized for your hard work. The owner makes irrational decisions and holds grudges.

FormFast takes the happiness and satisfaction of our team members very seriously and we're disappointed to read this review. Management makes every effort to create a positive and supportive environment where all employees feel that they understand our plans for growth and expansion. We're heavily investing in the development of our product suite and are excited about our opportunities. We would certainly welcome more specific feedback to help us address potential problems.

All talk, no game

Pros

Flexibility. Culture can be fun at times.

Cons

Zero opportunity for career growth. Weak camaraderie amongst regular employees. Very little to no recognition for workers, but plenty of self-congratulatory high-fiving among senior leadership, especially sales. Sales driven software company that is not very forward-thinking and hasn't produced anything genuinely innovative in the last 15 years. It speaks volumes when the development/support dept represents only about 10% of the company and the product is convoluted and expensive to support and maintain.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share feedback and I apologize for the tardiness of my response. I was very sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with FormFast. We are always trying to find ways to improve and will of course consider all feedback we receive but I wanted to address a few of your specific concerns. Regarding career growth, it is of course difficult in a company of our size to be able to consistently provide pathways for growth within our organization, however we have placed heavy focus on doing just that, particularly in 2016. We are providing management training sessions that are open to all interested employees and working with outside consultants to provide individualized development plans for team members interested in moving into management or leadership roles. We have always provided education funding to employees who were interested in advanced degrees and certifications and continue to do so. New positions are always opened internally first. It is my hope that as the company continues to grow, we will only be able to present more and more opportunities to the people who work so hard to make that growth happen, but we of course already have so many examples of current managers and directors that have worked their way up the organizational chart, taken advantage of opportunities to get their MBAs or Masters degrees with FormFast and continue to grow and develop with the company. I do firmly believe that those interested in developing with our company who are open and communicate those desires to their manager and work to develop the skills required will find the opportunities they are looking for. Regarding recognition, in our last all company survey that we took at the beginning of 2016, we identified this as an area we want to continue to improve. That being said, on a scale of 1-5, 1 being strongly disagree and 5 being strongly agree, the statement “My supervisor provides recognition when I do a good job” received an average rating of 3.95, and among employees who have been with us 1-5 years or more than 10 years it received a rating of 4. You can never do too much to recognize the hard work of your team members, and we are continuing to explore ways to do that, beginning with our Recognition task force formed as a response to the survey results, but at a high level most FormFasters agree that they are receiving recognition for their achievements. Lastly, I just wanted to address the issue of innovation and development. The 10% statistic quoted is inaccurate. If you only include the development team and customer support team, they still make up 30% of our company and if you include other technical roles such as the implementation team, product management, etc the number is actually 70% of the FormFast team. We hired a new product manager in 2015 and are in the process of adding to her team and new products and innovation have become the #1 focus of the FormFast organization. We are offering a comprehensive healthcare training module to the entire company to further our understanding of the market and all employees have been tasked with bringing field data back to the product management team so that we can continue to understand our customers and create products that meet their needs. I completely agree that sales does not equal sustainable growth and so does FormFast! Innovation is the key component to remain successful and we are working hard to continue a legacy of innovation started back in 1992. Again, I was disappointed to hear that you had a negative experience and hope that our current initiatives, along with increased efforts toward communicating those initiatives company wide, will ensure that your concerns are addressed going forward.
