Bad training, even the trainers often don’t know what to do to help you and after the 2 weeks good luck hearing from them promptly if you need help. New policies and requirements are frequently sent out with little communication or direction. The amount of work you are expected to do is unreasonable, everyone at the desk is overworked and overwhelmed. The pay is mediocre and it doesn’t matter if you’ve worked here for 1 year or 10, you’ll maybe get a meager pennies on the dollar. Turnover is high and morale is low. There is little to no cooperation between the desk and clinicians. Many clinicians, especially management, do not understand the insurance work we do and makes no attempt to learn or cooperate in order to maximize patient care. All they care about is getting patients in and out the door. The healthcare is insultingly bad - 70/30 coinsurance after the deductible with the best offered plan.
