Pros

Not the best salary but it pay the bills

Cons

I was In POWER SYSTEM, and found that the engineering team isn't about engineering, it's about who they can attack, constantly trying to stitch each other up. Many bullies in this devision, which are protected by management. Certain engineers are protected, this they are allowed to attack graduates and apprenticeships. The team are constantly being moved about because they dont get on with each other. None are interested working together, just literally a DOG eat DOG environment! They all talk, and complain about each other, they have no respect for others. Luckily I didn't take part or get caught up in the disfunctional team, but it's a horrible environment to work in.. no wonder they have such a high turnover in staff... To work in the place you are required to be a good liar, have no spine and expect to be pooped on by the team constantly, you must do as they say and if anyone make mistakes they will accuse others. You have to accept the bully culture !!

Pros

- Plenty of engine design to go around. Lots of current product and future projects to get involved in. -Good training provided if cheap/free.

Cons

Where to start... - Never seen such a poor bunch of 'Principal Engineers'. Impeccably poor managers who couldn't organise a child's birthday party. - Huge amount of bullying with business unit. Expect to be thrown under the bus if you make a mistake. I was. - 'Mangers' do not care about you or how you feel. If you need help, you will simply be left to suffer. I did. - Company will lie and not adhere to its own policies, to protect its managers and not its staff members. Even if you are completely in the right. Managers will hide behind HR, and hope they can 'fix' there mess. - Managers acknowledge stress and bullying, but not willing to solve it, only let it get worse. Only happy to make it public and embarrass the employees and claim it's not an issue. - Poor engineering negligence, even on a basic level. - No real interest to development young talent. Only company I have ever seen this! - Managers need to allow competent staff to responsibility to undertake work, and not micro manage.

Pros

Competitive salary Some good people here

Cons

No flexibility. You will struggle getting time off for your grandparents funeral. Outdated company values. No flexibility, no flexi-time, fixed holidays, 3 month notice period. You will be sneered at for taking 31 minutes on your 30 minute lunch break. Regular redundancies are made just to excuse them removing anyone they do not like. Lord Bamford is a modern day slave driver.
