Pros

Great Company...that's what they tell you right away. Great benefits and pay. Loved the job amd people there.

Cons

Very little training was given when told we'd have 6 weeks to train. You have to have a LOT of knowledge on products before being on the phone with a customer. Very micro managed and if youre sick or lets say, the weather is preventing you from coming into work, unless you have PTO, you'll get fired. It doesn't matter how much you invest yourself in the company, they can and will replace you. Let's say you find out at work that your very close family member committed suicide, but they arent immediate..too bad. You need to stay for your shift and hold in your tears. Youre not a person here. Youre a number. Dont believe the lies they tell you in the beginning of them being family oriented.

Pros

Friendly people; reasonable hours; they try to promote from within across the company (although in the software department there is nowhere to go in terms of upward mobility).

Cons

Was told by manager that quality was a big priority, but actually getting tasks done ASAP is the main priority, quality go hang itself. Inadequate software dev processes in place. Governed from Taiwan with Taiwanese ethics, may be the cause of professionals not being treated as such. Relatively high turnover. Software manager is not transparent and his words cannot be fully trusted, possible due to higher-level management issues. Within the last year two people from a group of about 14 independently quit in frustration without having any other job to go to.

First, thank you for the compliments. We know that our employees are among our greatest strengths – we think our colleagues across the organization are friendly, and we’re glad that you do, too. You’re right in pointing out that we do strongly believe in promoting from within, but it should be noted that we have clearly defined positions and requirements to support growth paths for our software engineers as we do for all departments. Your manager would be happy to share these with you. We are a global company, and many of our employees embrace the opportunity to work with experts from across the US, Europe and Asia to deliver solutions that meet the diverse needs of our global customer base. In this system of team work that blends expertise from several continents, we naturally have processes in place to ensure our solutions can be manufactured and that quality and innovation remain at the forefront of what we do. We have found that this global approach gives us an advantage when it comes to market acceptance, and as a result our brands are among the industry’s fastest growing across the world.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Our employees’ satisfaction is important to us, so we value input whenever we get it. Through our employee opinion surveys we have identified that interdepartmental communication is an opportunity area for us, and as a result have embarked on a continuous improvement program to address communication and cooperation. We’re already making significant strides, and continue to welcome suggestions for improvement – we’ve put many vehicles in place to allow employees to make recommendations. Regarding your comments about promotion opportunities, we give our staff the opportunity to professionally advance whenever possible. We post all open positions internally first, and we give preference to existing staff for any new or open positions. As a result, this year we’ve already awarded 40 internal promotions and four lateral transfers.
