Pros

TLDR: Management does not care about their employees in the slightest. You are a resource and you will be treated as such. To give you context on the type of leadership you can expect, the director of software engineering is too busy being an uber driver for prospective candidates. The organization is too cheap to pay for a car rental and deems a good use of the director’s time is to personally drive around out of state candidates. If you are into big brother watching then this place is perfect as another task of the director is to monitor all employees hours, via cameras, software, and badges. If you do take a job here please keep detailed records of your hours as the director can’t do basic math or will maliciously round your hours to the company’s favor. Given that the director doesn’t have any recent software experience it would make sense why there is no vision for the software engineering side of the company other than milking employees until they inevitably leave.

Cons

Management does not care about burning out the people that make their company function.

Pros

As a company who manufactures and distributes fitness equipment, it is especially rewarding that the management and staff are encouraged to stay fit and healthy. JHT employees are rewarded for working out with "FitBucks" (you receive one for every hour you work out) that can be cashed in for gift cards and merchandise. The HR team offers free Lunch 'n Learn sessions on various wellness topics, Yoga and Bootcamp classes are available, and you can participate in a run group or get an affordable chair massage (all offered at the office). In the summer, departments are pitted against each other to compete in the Yard Olympics, trick-or-treaters abound in the fall, and there are craft fairs and chili cook-offs in the winter. The environment is pleasantly casual and positive. While this all seems like fun and games, the staff works hard and output is high. Happy employees = hard-working employees.

Cons

Communication between departments has been an issue in the past, but management has taken a good look at this opportunity and is making improvements in this area. Teamwork is encouraged and is becoming more prevalent.

DONT work Here

Pros

The only pro of working here is a nice gym to workout in whenever you want. Nobody is usually there and the products are decent.

Cons

No room to grow and the environment and people there are toxic. They do NOT want you to grow within the company and will keep you stagnate. The supervisor and directer of customer support are rotten. I worked here for 5 years thinking they cared about me wanting to advance in my accounting career or just advance at anything at all and I was held back multiple times. I busted my butt for a company that wasn't worth it. You either have to kiss a** or be friends with someone higher up. HR also doesn't give a crap about your complaints either. They will ALWAYS side with the supervisor or the person in the higher position even when they're in the wrong.
