Pros

A positive work environment is provided due to the fact the manager is also a long time friend. The discount is alright however I can't really afford to take advantage of it.

Cons

You cannot live off of these wages. You are scheduled 2 to 3 days a week tops if you're a part timer. They do not base pay off of experience, part timers make minimum wage; assistant managers make roughly a dollar more; however working around 60 hours a week "makes up" for the small pay increase. People in my district fear the district manager which is not okay. Management in the real world outside of journey's (aside from marley station) provides guidance rather than simply strickening your employees with fear.

Pros

open dress code, great discount on products, interesting co-workers, tattoos, piercings, and colored hair welcomed, sales goals and SOPs are doable when you can sell and there's a customer to sell to.

Cons

too many hours for too little pay, unrealistic expectations of managers, Journeys becomes your life everything else falls to the side, extremely high turnover for managers and staff, average run for a store manager is 8 months, 4 hours DVD on repeat for a month, in DM's eyes if you're anything below co-manager you're just another blank face they can disrespect or flat out ignore.

Pros

The discount is nice and the job is easy

Cons

I was hired to be the assistant manager and after my first week of training they brought in another person and without telling me anything that person took my job. I had to bring up the situation to my boss and still wasn't told the truth. I applied to be a manager not part time. Getting paid like a manager to do stock.
