Pros

The Pros for working at Journeys will always be completely different from person to person. For me, I loved my job, I loved everything it entailed from face to face interactions with thousands of new faces everyday....to training employees I hired and watching them grow as employees and as individuals. I love the competitive environment---not just the competing that goes on between PTs, stores, districts, regions..but competing with every other company in the world, winning over customers and knowing Journeys (and my store) will become an instinct, if you will, that he/she will come to me before any other store for what he/she needs. That's a huge pro for me, creating relationships with all kinds of people because they enjoy my employees, my stores and my customer service.

Cons

I can give an endless amount of reasons why it says "Disappointed" at the top. I fully and completely understand the strict discipline, the attitude and aggressiveness an employee needs to have and every superior in the chain above them. What seems to be a company wide problem is just that tho, the very aggressive atmosphere is great in so many ways and is KEY for being successful in this type of business, but what is constantly overlooked company wide everyday is the tunnel vision it causes all of the upper management to have. I'm talking about the SM, the DM and RM. The constant need to feel like you need to be intimidating at all times to everyone gets out of control and causes DMs to overlook the real potential and the right employees that really are making a difference and will continue to grow in the company which will benefit all.
