Pros

I met and worked with a few people who were great. Some customers were great. They recently approved my unpaid hours when I made it clear I was going to report them to the state. It was an easy enough job.

Cons

I worked and was laid off because I requested to train at a store that was not "on the verge of being shut down." As I was told upon my hiring. It was so ill-managed that the shoes in the back storage were not even in the correct areas. The entire store was a disaster. I made sales I couldn't account for every day I was there because I was not given any log-in or clock-in information. I am almost 30 and looked forward to working with Journeys and help encourage some younger individuals to be confident and learn, I was met with disrespect by the DMIT (who is a complete jerk to say the least and talked badly about multiple young adults/teens and he is a grown man with kids) I was told day one that others also did not think he was a good person. (update: they heard me say I was going to take further action and approved my unpaid hours and overnighted my check. Still no care or question in regards to being "let go" because I asked to be trained better in a thriving store and was willing to travel; I was already driving an hour to the store mentioned above.).

Pros

Great if you love high schoolers lol Hours aren’t bad if your district manager sucks

Cons

Don’t ask to be promoted if you’re a woman or of color. Most district managers are old white men and don’t value anyone other than those they align themselves with Pay is too low for the amount of work they expect Outdated company sales policies. No one is buying 4 shoes 2 packs of socks and a can of crep guys

Pros

Coworkers were great Flexible schedule

Cons

Management only cares about sales but won’t find new ways to market to actually bring in customers. Would rarely be busy but it was our fault if customers didn’t want to walk into an outdated store
