Pros

Opportunity to get promoted is awesome. Learning how to sell is a great skill that can help you overall in life. Nice life skills gained for someone young.

Cons

Everyone has a sales goal. But not everyone makes commission. So the ones that don't make commission cut into the sales of the ones that do. It's like free money the company doesn't have to pay out to the associates but as a manager I miss out. What is paid to a co-manager is a joke. I'm here 45 hours a week and can barely pay bills. Journeys should be ashamed. And we don't make commission or get credit for buy online pick up in store orders but we have to use our inventory. Just greedy.

Pros

there are no pros to this job stay away

Cons

they don’t care about you as a person unless you sell a lot. if you don’t sell 5 pairs of socks during your shift you get treated differently and all your coworker act like your friend until they see your customer are buying two shoes and socks so they ring them up and steal your sale and management is way too young and unexperienced. also was having to drive our couple hundred dollar deposits to the bank at the end of the night off the sketchiest road ever because journeys didn’t want anyone under 18 going to the bank yet half my employees were 16-17.

Pros

40% off discount A lot of overtime offered

Cons

Extremely unprofessional workspace. The only male team lead in the department will sexually harass you. He also openly makes fun of employees in the work chat over their age, looks, even down to the model of the computer they’re using. They do not send equipment, you must use your own. They have now transitioned to onsite only when they used to offer hybrid and remote. However, they play favorites because some people get to work remote. The manager of the department is emotionally stunted and makes very inappropriate “jokes” about trauma, abuse, etc. Entirely way too overworked and underpaid. They make you take three chats at a time, meanwhile, team leads and tier 4 agents remind you to “keep doing emails” even though they themselves do little to nothing all day to help. You will be expected to handle three chats at a time, which are constant from the beginning of the day to the end, especially during their blackout season. People cuss at you and insult you and you are not allowed to disconnect. They have a blackout season where you literally cannot take off work or you will be fired. They do not approve PTO within this time either. They are supposed to do quarterly shift bids, but because they’re so understaffed, they haven’t in a while. Your spot in the shift bid is dependent on your QA metric and numbers. Their raises and bonuses are dependent on an ever changing made up quality assurance department. So, even if you do everything right, you still may not reach your quarterly goals because QA grades as if they’re English professors at an Ivy League. Their QA has a very specific set of rules. You can get marked down for grammatical errors that aren’t even incorrect. These people have full control over your income. They are terribly understaffed. A team lead stepped down in the beginning of the year and has not been replaced, leaving many employees without that additional help. Childlike conversation in the work chat. If you’re down for jobs where the only male lead at work is called “a walking HR violation” as a “joke” then this is the perfect place for you! Also, Jessica or Krisie, don’t bother replying to this post with a generic “please contact us by email” comment. Spend your time actually working like the rest of the employees.
