Job security. Plenty of opportunities for growth if you choose to seek it. If you are a natural leader, this is the place for you.

Cons

High turn over rate, poor work/life balance culture, poor training/mentorship. Sink or swim environment. FAVORITISM/Nepotism. Execs have gotten gross increases in their salaries, not justified for a non profit community hospital operating in the RED, actively making cuts budget year after year, decreasing employee benefits like 401kmatching, spending ridiculous amounts on travel staff and NOT increasing wages for loyal, long term employees. Employee burnout is REAL.

The coworkers you will work with here are amazing.

Cons

Forget packing your lunch, you will barely have time to pee. If you have a passion for nursing run away because I don't think I have seen a single employee that has worked here for a year have any excitement or joy in their eyes. Also management is a who's who game and if you don't have the right pieces from the start forget trying to move forward in your practice. Hospitals like this are the reason that labor laws exist.
