Cloud is a mess

Pros

Excellent benefits and uncapped annual leave + flexible working

Cons

The cloud strategy is in disarray, automation falls short of industry standards, and the migration to the cloud has exacerbated numerous issues with limited success. Management lacks familiarity with cloud best practices and possesses minimal to no knowledge of public cloud services. In the event of issues, blame is often unfairly directed at the engineers rather than at the managers, who lack cloud expertise. For individuals seeking to advance their careers in cloud technology, this environment is not conducive. Many team members refrain from voicing their concerns and are merely collecting their paychecks each month.

Pros

Great sales and support peers! Strong product Very good customer base Always improving the product

Cons

1+ year sale cycle if you're lucky. If you can't live on your base for 3 years, Kinaxis is not for you. Basically no BD, so a ton of prospecting that goes nowhere. A sale with payment terms pays the same way. You get drip paid. Product gaps. Super expensive, in a very competitive market. Very expensive health insurance No stock options for anyone lower than director level

Thanks for your feedback. We’re glad to hear your thoughts on our product, customer base and team! We have a healthy prospect pipeline, supported by a growing BD team, and it includes companies looking for major supply chain transformations and deployments, as well as those who are after a more agile solution. These variations in prospect needs do have an impact on sales cycles but we are patient and empathetic with all our customers’, and future customers’, needs in mind. We also frequently review our total rewards offering for employees globally to remain competitive in benefit and reward programs and we recently introduced new health benefits in the US. Thanks again for your feedback.

Pros

Excellent work / life balance (remote work, easy appointments, flexible hours). A modern approach to work (a little flexibility, a ping-pong table, etc.). On par with other high tech companies in Kanata. Wonderful colleagues, always learning from them. The managers are always encouraging. Opportunities to learn new skills at hack-a-thons.

Cons

A terrible product management engagement in R & D. Managers are not usually in sync with project managers certainly do not help. Pay is not competitive. This is constantly mentioned in all forms of feedback and questions for HR and Directors, but the answer is always the same. Yes, it may be at the 75th percentile. Yet, many high-performing employees have left or are looking for a job elsewhere. If you want to keep people, then pay them well. Wage increases and overall growth prospects within the company are not clear either. The current environment is not for growth, although the "growth" is pushed by the CEO on wards. A lot of free pop, not as much as free healthy alternatives, especially the good ripe fruit. I have seen new employees quickly develop very bad habits by drinking a few free soft drinks a day. And older employees who visit free soft drink vending machines often, taking many at a time.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, we have free pop. We also have fresh organic fruit which is delivered to the HQ every week, a free gym, yoga classes, personal trainer, stand up desks, sports teams, benefits that cover a nutritionist, work-life balance, and recently we hired Employee Experience Specialist who is helping to develop healthy habits among employees! We have recently revamped all of our salary structures, matching to a broader base of market surveys and anchoring our target salary within ranges to a market-leading position. Where employees fall within a particular salary range and how quickly they can grow in that range, or promote to the next, is dependent on many factors including sustained performance, potential and skills and abilities relative to the defined and market-matched roles. Base pay is just one component of our total compensation and culture offering at Kinaxis. We are constantly improving our Total Rewards offering and welcome interested parties to find out what we have to offer. We’d encourage you to talk to your HR business partner or manager for an opportunity for a deeper conversation on some of these important issues.
