Toxic Leadership Allowed to Thrive Without Accountability
Pros
I enjoyed many of the hiring managers I worked with. Company offers stability as a long standing brand and is continuing to expand.
Cons
My time under my leader and her direct leader was deeply disappointing. Both present themselves as supportive and invested in their teams, but in reality their main priority is protecting their own image and advancing their own careers. Rather than fostering genuine growth or collaboration, they rely on performative “support” that feels hollow and insincere. Feedback is inconsistent, recognition is superficial, and when real challenges arise, they deflect responsibility instead of stepping up as true leaders. The bigger issue is that this behavior is not a secret. The leader who they both report up to, is fully aware of these long-standing problems. Unfortunately, instead of addressing them, he allows this dysfunction to continue unchecked. It seems clear that because of his family connection to the company, he is unwilling (or unable) to hold his leaders accountable. This weak oversight enables a culture of inauthenticity and self-preservation at the expense of the employees who keep things running. If you value integrity, accountability, and authentic leadership, you will not find it here.
