Pros

Your coworkers are your lifeline and they are really some of the most supportive, interesting, and kind people you'll meet. You move through projects quickly and pick up a lot of skills quickly as a result. I have to give credit where credit is due that without this job, I probably would not be where I am today (happy, healthy, fairly compensated, good work/life balance, doing fulfilling work).

Cons

Promotions are based on a timeline, not on merit, so as a result, there are a lot of young managers who rise quickly that have inflated titles. This is fine, but management does not give them the necessary training to be able to manage other people so quickly. All of this leads to poor communication, feeling like your concerns will never get through, and poor people management. This lack of experience also leads to micro-management to the worst degree. From a project standpoint: due to the poor project management and poor decision making, the people doing the work (designers, associate consultants, engineers) have to work overtime. What I found most frustrating is that most of the time, management/leads are not on the same page as the client, and when faced with client feedback that tells them that what the team has put forth is not what they're looking for, leads/management think that the solution is to add on more designers/consultants to the project. This leads to months of redesigns, scrapped concepts/designs, starting over again and again.... a huge waste of time/resources. Working here was very demoralizing and most people, if not everyone, is overworked/burned out. Upon joining, it was clear there that this place was built on nepotism and favoritism and they don't treat every employee equally.

Pros

The people. This is mentioned again and again in reviews and it's true, these are some of the greatest people that you'll meet and friendships that you'll form. Yes there is no work from home and working hours are longer than other companies and are inflexible, BUT it's when some of the strongest bond and culture between your colleagues are formed because everyone is present at all times. Activities and outings. There's always lots of social events happening. From trivia to Friday lunch to annual ski trip, there's lots of bonding opportunities with your teammates. Learning. Projects are fast paced, pushes you to learn new frameworks all the time. There's usually powerhours every week led by colleagues introducing new languages or processes, which are all very helpful. Frat / college culture. Party, drinking and shots culture if you're into it, which many new and must I add college fresh grads hires are into. For me it's a con ... more below.

Cons

Culture. Best described as white male fraternity. Drinking culture is strong, and apparently has been "toned down" in the past few years (???). But founders and VPs still ice each other at company retreats like they're 18. Golf is where the business (and line up for promotion) happens. Everyone in leadership are literally best friends from BEFORE the company started, try digging into their background and you'll realize nepotism is at play. Everyone else who's trying to get into the leadership ring are trying to be BFFs with more rounds of golf and shots. Diversity. This is laughable. There is no diversity of thought considering everyone in upper management again came from the friend group or are becoming part of the same friend group. There is nothing wrong with managers forming intimate friendships, but if they have no intention let alone policies in enforcing diversity and inclusion, then there is a big problem. No ethnic diversity in upper management either other than one cofounder. Salary.... is a joke. They undercut until you've proven your way up to become worthy of their recognition. Management. Managers need training. Depending on the team that you're on you can be stuck with a manager who does not know how to run a team or gets ego-filled. Another department had managers getting a NEW junior hire running around interviewing people on faults and issues and did nothing with the 20-page deck that is presented (also, what???). This is not to say all managers are terrible, I was very lucky to be on a team that allowed for growth and proper mentorship. HR. No, there's no HR. That alone is not as bad as how Konrad runs their psuedo HR who is run by friends. Is there someone who you can report issues to? Sure. Will you? heck no, it's the same hive mind. Fake reviews. This is mentioned in several reviews and let me confirm, it's not "unhappy employees" claiming there's fake reviews written. I for one have heard confirmation from an employee who fabricate reviews that it is actually a practice that is done. Go figure.

Pros

- diversity in projects, not too exciting but there do vary quite a bit in type - everyone who works here is very kind and helpful, colleagues are generally very supportive!!! - getting to know coworkers from Costa Rica when they visit - once you're at a manager level, the salary is good and your career and position is very secure - titles can be so inflated, they look great on resumes and boost a whole bunch of egos and sometimes salaries, but it really depends if that's what you're after

Cons

- favouritism. It's so obvious who the founders like, promote, and put more interaction effort and energy towards. I guess if you get in their good books you're golden - the best source for reviews is to ask ex-employees..... many extrenely talented people and senior managers have left in the past year and despite their years long worth of contributions, most relationships are severed when you resign. It's such a pity to see this level of immaturity. The company does not handle leaves well and most of the time no one knows what happens to someone until a day or week later - departure emails if sent at all are always sent outside of work hours and timed very late so that you have little chance to interact with the person who's leaving - lots are unhappy with their managers but no one cares enough to ask
