Pros

-Job is pretty easy -Non management are some nice folks -No prior experience necessary

Cons

-No prior experience necessary -Poor communication with mgmt -Micro managing those that don't need it -Poisonous people get leadership roles -If you don't "clique" in, they rat you out -Flat rate, so your work pays the same anybody they hire -Mandatory meetings/training "refreshers", etc. -Outdated system and poor KPI system that doesn't work -Awful work-life balance -1 day remote is not hybrid!

Pros

- A lot of the non-lead role employees are kind - Decent stepping stone to find work elsewhere in the logistics field

Cons

Starting off, a couple teamwide meetings ago, the location manager told us that people were complaining about the company online via reviews and said to not do that and instead to just leave. So instead of considering the opinions of their workers so as to potentially improve, they'd rather you not voice your opinion at all. Favortism is another issue here, its easy to find exactly who to "befriend" if you want a fast track to promotions. I've witnessed this several times and its linked to the same two individuals. Lastly, the pay here is not competitive to what other companies offer, especially when weighed against their expectations given the current state port logistics, very outdated OS for performing tasks, and the outdated workplace preferences. They JUST purchased a second office space because they insist people come in to work jobs that have been done well remotely for the past two years now. Training is another weak point. Lovely trainers, bad execution. This is a quota-based job at the end of the day where you may get to be a teamlead for a modest pay-bump and/or move to another location for a vertical or lateral if you can overachieve.

Pros

Vacation sick days personal days 401k holidays maternity leave paternity leave

Cons

I've worked for other freight forwarders AND one other KN office.I have never witnessed such a high turnover in an office in such a short period of time. This place is a revolving door all that's left are the gossiping bitter petty lifers and the naive. The naive are offered salary positions with NO PAY RAISE from previous position and promises of big increases the following year that never come. They will eventually turn into gossiping bitter petty lifer and the vicious circle never ends. All the beautiful people are gone. The environment in Chicago is hostile and unprofessional STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
