Pros

I enjoyed working at Victoria's Secret (Limited Brands), the projects organized by the Branding and Concept Team were always varied and interesting. Staff always friendly to each other.

Cons

Strong consumer brand but maybe business development in need of more varied and open thinking mindset. Very long hours.

Pros

Nice discounts at sister stores, helpful employees and (for the most part) experienced management team

Cons

I worked at two stores owned and operated by Limited Brands (Victoria's Secret PINK and White Barn Candle Company). PINK had an extremely experienced management team. They were super organized and always pushed their employees to provide the best possible. I definitely enjoyed the time I worked there. On the other hand, White Barn was a little different. I started working there when the store first opened at the shopping mall near me.The first store manager was very experienced and so willing to help her team succeed. After she left to open a store at a different location, the management suffered. Their management skills were mediocre, and the staff suffered after our first manager left.

Pros

Excellent benefits, regular work, job security. climate controlled, generous discount and perks. Large company with many functions means opportunities exist for work outside DC operations. A lot of opportunity for hourly leadership to learn the business and gain experience.

Cons

Lower pay than comparable positions (despite suspiciously constant assurances of "competitive" pay rates). High reliance on contingent labor--leading to a very shallow talent pool when combined with lower wages. Constantly changing requirements that are increasingly demanding coupled with the difficulty in attracting and retaining talent at all levels is beginning to wear on surviving associates. Work-life balance gets a lot of lipservice, but a seeming inability to regulate work flow means teams frequently shift from burnout to low-paychecks even outside traditional "feast" and "famine" seasons.
