In a position to be a competitive employer in San Antonio

Pros

Labatt was a good place to learn from some very smart people. Everyone is willing to help and I learned a lot just from talking with other employees. The company was headed in a good direction until some management changes happened. The people who work there have the knowledge and could put the team in a competitive position if they had any power to make changes. Pay is good.

Cons

The culture. Ingrained in the management and some of the employees who have been at the company for a long period of time is the idea that if you’re not in agreement with all of the spoken and unspoken cultural rules and you don’t want to work at Labatt for life, you're an enemy. Once someone leaves, I never heard anyone say good things and assume the same for my situation. Often when something goes wrong, the people who left get the blame. There is great effort put into hiring college grads so they can teach them the Labatt culture before they have the chance to experience anything else.

A great place to work

Pros

If you know the value of hard work, then this is the place for you. The company hires brilliant recent graduates who have over time moved the company forward with an impressive number of technological achievements in-house. I think the executive staff recognizes talent when they see it and value it.

Cons

Unfortunately, certain disgruntled millennials make this place out to be less of an opportunity for learning by placing emphasis on their self-centered mindset. Entitlement (complaining about work/life balance, etc) gets in the way of valuing the opportunities to make a difference and make leaps and bounds in your own career path. If people focused for just a few years and put in the hard work at a company that allows you to, and opens the door for you to, they could have a resume to be envied by people boxed in by corporate jobs descriptions.

Pros

Regular hours, opportunities for raises each year

Cons

Very old fashioned way of doing business, can lead to promoting people who are not deserving
