Pros

free treatments, though rare, and leaving at the end of the day

Cons

the absolute worst work environment I've ever experienced. this company treats its staff like garbage -- especially clinical staff. don't let the Chief Medical Officer review fool you -- look back over all the reviews for the last year from actual clinical staff. the CMO shows up for filming and parties, and is so far detached from actual staff experience that it is comical. Not that he or anyone else in HQ or leadership actually cares. read the reviews from the employees themselves before you step into this nightmare.

Pros

Great money opportunity. Coworkers are great. Free (ish) staff treatments. Amazing marketing. Fabulous Customer Service/Support Team (Go Team Shereen!). Even with all the cons, I do love coming to work every day. So much more fun than a corporate sales job!

Cons

COMMUNICATION: Terrible communication from the owners. Most of the time they are sending condescending emails as to why a patient left a Yelp review about your store or why you discounted $200 off a $5,000 treatment package using the wrong discount code. Owners threaten fear of "corrective action" if brand new protocols aren't followed precisely as instructed. HR - can there please be a new one? I haven't heard one staff member say one good thing about HR. Always terrible experiences and actually combative conversations. Can you please give us access to track our own PTO rather than relying on emailing HR to track? TERRIBLE benefits. Majority of the staff are female and the company offers little to no maternity leave options and we are paying $400-$500/month for insurance? Take the Amazon/Nordstrom gift cards and pay for my insurance please! JOB SECURITY- they will literally tell you with a day notice if your store/job duties/working hours are about to change. Don't be surprised if you are asked to drive over an hour without gas or parking reimbursement even if there is a store WAY closer to your home. CULTURE: look out for the cliques. If you don't miss high school, don't work here. Everyone talks behind each other's backs and will steal or try to split a sale without following company protocols. Management definitely plays favorites and picks and chooses when to see a "gray" area in the sales protocols. TRANSPARENCY - I was hired with the understanding that a Director position was the goal to work towards. Now I have come to learn that they have done away with the Director position all together. If there is no extra 5% incentive, do we really care if the store hits goal?

Pros

Working with great nurses, free treatments. That’s it.

Cons

My time at LaserAway only lasted a few short months because of the blatant favoritism of horrible employees who they do not want to lose because they hit numbers. Upper management will take everything you say with a grain of salt and do nothing to proactively solve the problem. The drama in the clinics is nothing short of insane, I have never in my life seen so many crazy women. Also, management pressures you to sell, sell, sell to these patients who don’t want to spend the ridiculous prices they are offering. For example, the hydra facial is $300 without any spa-like services. That is just crazy to me, I felt like I was robbing people of their money. Or the PCCs who are selling a 65 year old woman radio frequency micro needling (a 4,000 treatment) because it will “change her skin.” Like no. They also took away the nurses upsell program, which in some cases was the extra money they needed to pay bills, just because they could. No explanation. Not to mention the rapid expansion in the Texas region instead of focusing on their established clinic because it’s all a numbers game at this company. I did not know GlassDoor existed before I started this position, and if I had known I would have never taken the offer. The proof is in the pudding, don’t listen to the 5-star reviews because they are all fake and created by upper management. The turnover at this company is astronomical, the horror stories I’ve heard about the people who work is these lead positions is honestly scary and I’m glad I got out while I could. Take my advice and heed my warning - do not work for this company, and if you do…. Goodluck!
