Pros

Flexible with schedule, and the pay is pretty decent considering we aren't in the hospital working 12-14 hour shifts. Im full time and happy.

Cons

I dont really use my "nursing" skills and I feel like im selling myself short in a way, but i love what i do too. Also, I feel that we hire a LOT of new nurses and PAs and it takes a lot of time to get them trained.

Pros

-intro to aesthetic medicine if you have no experience previously -botox/filler training (basics) -free treatment 1x/month

Cons

-Double, triple, quadruple booked appointments - this is not an exaggeration. Expect to regularly treat 4-5 patients in a 30 minute period. You will be rushed around by PCCs and LDs (front desk) who get pressure from upper management to fit any appointment in that they can. As a nurse, this felt incredibly unsafe. These treatments should NOT be rushed. This is aesthetics. We are trying to make people look and feel their best. That should not be something the provider OR the patient should feel rushed through - especially by people who don't have medical degrees (completely inappropriate and a whole separate issue). It comes off as inexperienced, unprofessional, and greedy to the patients and burns nurses out very fast. It is also a huge reason you end up with adverse reactions. THIS is the number one reason your nurses/providers are leaving (coming from an ex ICU nurse who is very accustomed to working quickly and under pressure in literal life and death scenarios). -Weekends - you will work every weekend, at least one day and often the whole weekend. Pretty much all of the nurses work all of the weekends so there is never anyone to cover for you or swap shifts with. -90% laser hair removal. In the beginning, this is fine. However, staring at a flashing light and listening to a monotone, LOUD beeping noise in a freezing cold room for at least 6 hours out of your day, 5 days per week, is enough to drive anyone a little crazy.
