Oh LaserAway...I can't wait for the netflix documentary to come out one day dissecting the blatant fraud this company commits.
I had worked for this company for almost 2.5 years. When I first started, things were great and I felt like I found my dream job. Nurses were respected, the schedule had strict guidelines in place, and I felt like management was very nurse and safety focused. Fast forward a year and things slowly start to change. The schedule went from having strict guidelines (which protects both the machines and the nurse's backs) to saying the schedule is now "fluid". All mayhem breaks loose. Nurses are now expected to see x3 as many clients in a day without increase in pay due to double/triple/quad bookings. If you refuse to stay past closing time to accommodate patients, sales is supposed to report you. They now schedule filler and botox appointments as well as hours long LHR during coolsculpting applicators. Not only is this sometimes physically impossible, but dangerous for the patient. Expect paying hundreds of dollars for an injection appointment only for your nurse to say she has to leave mid treatment for 15min to help a coolsculpting patient. Anytime nurses bring concerns to the table, we are met with gaslighting and belittlement. We are now treated like children that are expected to work like minions. Keep your head down, shut up, don't argue with sales.
-Last year, many regionals and NPs were let go to save money. On a Friday. At the end of the day.
-Within the past 4 to 6 months they have also added 10 hour shifts which are grueling for the nurses, yet sales gets to break up those days into 8 hour shifts
-We are now open holidays. That's right. They decided to be open new years and easter so far. Being open Christmas this year would not shock me in the slightest.
-Company wide, they took away paid parking, which makes working in the more downtown clinics an absolute nightmare.
-You must work every weekend, there is no work life balance. If you request a whole weekend off you get punished by working the entire weekend the following week.
-Due to the extreme overbooking of the schedule, it is almost impossible for staff to get their free monthly treatment. Nurses are the first to be booted off the schedule to make room for clients
-Machines are now falling apart frequently due to the change in booking guidelines. Machines need time to cool down and be serviced, but these machines are being used 8+ hours a day nonstop. It's common to have 120min+ LHR bookings in one sitting.
-The nurses's medical knowledge used to be respected. If we did not agree with a treatment plan or felt like the patient was not a good candidate, we felt supported in our decisions. Now that LA operates like a factory, sales will sell anything to get people in the door and treat before they can refund. I am truly appalled at the way patients are treated and talked about by sales and upper management.
-Due to the double/triple bookings, patients now have to wait and are pissed, taking it out on the nurses once they get to the treatment room. Sales is frequently overheard telling patients "the nurses are running behind". How can I run behind when I can't be in 3 rooms at once?
-Lastly, if you DARE not agree with a treatment for a patient and actually tell them the truth about their results and expectations, watch your back. Remote sales will report you and CC all the higher ups for revenge.
