Pros

There are no pros to working here!

Cons

This company is founded on lies & the mean girls mentality! They lie to you in training & tell you these leads are HOT HOT HOT & that you're going to make so much money... you are literally cold calling every lead & every lead is so saturated that people are begging to be removed from the call list. They are tricking people into entering their information to generate their "leads". Only the people who have been there since the company started get the hot transfers & access to new leads first. They are over working the nurses with double, triple & quadruple bookings. Not to mention their services are INSANELY overpriced!!! All this company does is bait & switch! Customer Service issues are never addressed. Location Directors are all young & immature & if you out sell one of them, you will have a target on your back. Regional Managers do nothing but play favoritism & no one is ever reprimanded for horrible behavior! Everything is considered "she said, she said" so unless you record your work every day, you will always be the one to blame! This company is for people who a liars, con artists & have absolutely no morals or values! There is no consistency with your schedule so kiss that workplace balance goodbye & be prepared to run yourself ragged!

Pros

Nurse co-workers. Paid trainings. Monthly treatments (but if they need to squeeze someone in they will automatically take you off so there goes your free treatment)

Cons

I used to love and enjoy going to work for LaserAway, but after the recent year of pure chaos I would get anxiety driving to work! I felt depressed and sad knowing I had to mentally prepare myself to walk into an unpleasant working environment. My nursing coworkers were the only thing keeping me sane. --The company does not care nor value the nurses at all no matter how many "good job, we value you" emails we receive. We are asked for our input/review in hopes the higher ups will actually listen but we always get the run around and nothing ever gets done. The sales department has control of your entire day and your opinion is not taken into consideration let alone patient SAFETY. With double/triple bookings, they expect you to be in two rooms at once, get upset when patients are waiting 30+ minutes and make comments or facial expressions because they want you to hurry up. How do you expect to inject TWO patients in the span of 30 minutes, oh and a small area of hair removal since to them it's "just an underarm." PCCs will LIE to patients and blame the wait on the clinicians and say "sorry your nurse is running behind" which is not true; it's the schedule being jam packed and we take safety very seriously when treating. They will put in last minute patients in because they don't want to lose a sale / get a refund and as the clinician that's "just how it's going to be '' because that's what our job is.-- You couldn't even take your breaks, let alone your lunch in the same rooms as sales because they will constantly bother you even when you have headphones in to AVOID them and they can also see when your lunch time is but oh, they "didn't realize" it was your lunch but yet they do the schedule.--They do not care if the patients have great results at the end because all the company/sales cares about is making sure they sign their name for a $10,000 hair removal loan. If you see no results, no worries let a nurse assess you because they won't deal with unsatisfied patients and hide in the back room until they leave. The sales can't handle the heat when it comes to difficult patients but sure know how to take their life savings for that nice monthly commission checks.-- The more treatments you are trained for the more work you are expected to do but no compensation at all. You are also told to upsell to patients with no real bonuses because the little money you MAYBE get will still be taxed. I did not apply to be a salesperson so why are the nurses responsible to also sell. Yes, speak about treatments but if you do not agree / recommend what they are being sold be prepared to get snotty attitudes from the front. You are constantly being told by NON medical what to tell patients what they want to hear! -- Don't get me started on calling out sick. If you're sick be prepared for that "can you at least cover a partial shift to avoid rescheduling?" Why on earth would we have called in sick if we would be capable of still working half shift??? Hard earned PTO is taken from you if you request a day off MONTHS in advance, call in sick, or have family emergencies. In the end, there was no work-life balance, especially working 5 days straight. You feel like a zombie after but will possibly still get texts from the on call center if you can cover a call out :) Side note: on call center will become very sassy if it doesn't go their way or if you dont reply back because you go to sleep right after you call out for being sick or you're literally in the middle of a family emergency. You will then be approached by a lead and "maybe part time is the way to go" since you may be messing with their money. -- It seemed there was no growth career and raise wise for clinicians. It felt like a dead end. "LDs" and sales are the only ones making the real $$ there instead of the nurses breaking their backs every single shift. We are seen as "lazy" if god forbid I sat down to DRINK WATER or chart!! Everyone in the clinic will act so differently and fake if anyone higher would visit the clinic. The clinicians just got the short end of the stick every time.-- The company is losing  so many AMAZING nurses since we are easily replaceable in their eyes. I have met and seen so many knowledgeable and great nurses in my years there and is truly sad the way everyone felt and nothing was done. You are talked down to as if you are a child. Egos are so big in clinic & somehow it is a shock of how unhappy nurses are even with all the feedbacks that are given.--Every single negative review that nurses leave is 100% true! Don't let the positive ones fool you, they're all from sales/ PCCs who are either told to leave the review or happy because they literally make MORE $$ than the nurses because of their commissions.

Pros

Employees at LaserAway are allowed to have certain free treatments. Nurses are able to learn new procedures without prior experience (they train you.) Flexible work schedule/days off. Having the best Regional Clinical Director and coworkers.

Cons

Management: Before I talk about management, I want to write the core values that LaserAway “abides by.” OUR TEAM: We’re a family, made up of talented, dedicated people who thrive on collaboration and are inspired and motivated by our collective success.” OUR CULTURE: What makes up #TeamLA? Passion, integrity, drive and healthy dose of sass. We work hard, we have fun, and we get #$%& done the right way-laser-focused (pun intended) on results, but also on how we get them. OUR PATIENTS: We are obsessed with exceeding our patients’ expectations throughout every touch point, treating every single one of them like the gorgeous VIPs they are. OUR SCIENCE: The value we provide our patients is visible, tangible and backed by proven medical research, with an unwavering dedication to safety for both our patients and our team. OUR FUTURE: Innovation is in our DNA-we thrive off feedback, live for new ways of thinking and embrace change like no one’s business. We are a fast-growing-ever-evolving company with a third for what’s next. Team: It is very funny it says “we’re a family who are dedicated to thrive on collaboration,” with who is LaserAway collaborating with? It seems to me the only people who are collaborating are the girls who SELL the treatments and management. I have seen girls pursue patients to buy a treatment if they can book them the same day off selling. Which means, they are making the nurse’s schedule harder/packed or, they will reschedule other existing appointments to get their sell. Not to mention, these girls get commission. Not the nurse’s who do the treatment but the people who just SELL these treatments. So they are making a lot more than some nurses are. Some of the girls who sell remotely will be doing shady things such as selling a half sleeve tattoo as a dollar size tattoo. Why does it matter though? Because a half sheet of paper is booked differently than a dollar size tattoo. It is a 30 min difference between the two. I have also seen PCCS sell to patients who have been quoted from other PCCS prior being taken. When you work base off of commissions, the PCCS will do everything/anything in their power to make that sale. Its all about $$$ in this company. PCCs in store/remotely will sell the wrong treatments on patients and promise them the best results. The PCCS as well do not care how they schedule the patients. I have had PCCS bother me during my lunches. Let me remind you that it is required by law to take an uninterrupted 30 minute lunch. Do they care though, absolutely not. Instead, there are nurse who will take their lunch in their car to get that peace and quiet. PCCS will also lie to the nurses about certain rules to get away with certain situations. Culture: LaserAway is far from a healthy work culture. We use to have lunches almost every month. Now, we have to compete to get lunches (highest selling store in each region.) All they want us to do is to sell every month to make LaserAway have millions/billions of dollars while they don’t want to even raise the pay of the nurses. Instead, they are working on commission pay for us nurses. It is not OUR job as nurses to sell the treatments, we do them. Minimum wage now is $20. We should automatically have a $5-15 raise in this economy. Patients: Lets talk about giving our patients “VIP treatments.” How are the nurses suppose to give quality treatment when LaserAway is triple booking patient’s appointments. I’ve had a coolsculpting booked with a platinum (leg, braz, underarm) treatment IN BETWEEN the coolsculpting. So when I am doing hair removal and my buzzer rings that the coolsculpting is done and I need to place a new applicator, I have to stop the treatment and tend to them now. Ive had the front girls/guys RESCHEDULE an existing appointments that were done weeks ago because they didnt triple check the schedule the day before to make sure it runs smoothly. I have had patients run late and missed their ENTIRE APPOINTMENT being squeezed inside my busy schedule, making me late to my next appointments. If you’re a loyal patient in LaserAway, you wont be treated as a loyal patient. Instead, they will try to make sure you purchase everything and anything at LaserAway. You just got hair removal for one small area? How about we try to get you to treat your legs, Brazilian, and underarm additionally. Not to mention, you might not even need to treat a big area but its so much cheaper if you buy all areas. You just got full body hair removal, how about that fat under your chin? Let’s make you get coolsculpting for your chin! Let’s also make sure when that fat is reduced, we get thermage to “tighten” up that skin! LaserAway does not care about you, they only care about the money you spend with us. Science: SAFETY. LaserAway treats their patients like garbage. All they care about is making a lot of $$$. LaserAway will triple book patients because the more patients they have in a day, the more $$$ they will have. Not to mention that the quality of their treatments have gone down significantly and making it a risk of injury to each and every patient. Imagine being so late to your patients you are running 30-40 mins behind. Imagine you are trying to catch up before your 5th hour of lunch because LaserAway gets fined if we go over the 5th hour. How are nurses expected to give quality and SAFE treatments when they are booking nurses like robots. Simple, you cant. Poor quality treatments = poor quality results. Future: LaserAway does NOT thrive off of feedback. There are so much feedback given from nurses and they still refuse to change. They have nurses and the front girls/guys quit because the company is horrible. They have given us nurses less power. We are not able to see the schedule anymore. We are getting very low raises every year (we use to get $3 raises now they are around a 10-15% raise.) We do not order medical supplies anymore because they are very stingy with the amount we order. We are getting triple booked with no raise in pay or compensations. All they did was build new locations to make more $$ while letting their oldest locations suffer. Lets not mention they have created a system where if you work a certain day but you cant work, you are forced to use your PTO to make up the full time hours you have to work. LaserAway will try to ask nurses on their off day if they can come work since they’re “low on on call nurses.” To make it even funnier, they are giving $5 extra pay on the weekends to get nurses to take more weekend shifts. Forget a decent raise or hearing the nurse’s concerns, they are giving us incentive to work harder when they dont care about us. How typical for a million dollar company who are money hungry. The hotline who you text for being sick, etc, live in the East Coast. They have no idea where each nurse is located and the clinics. If multiple people call out one day, they will try to juggle all the nurses to compensate. If you call out on a shift because you are sick, they will try to ask if you can work partial at least to prevent closing down a column (each nurse has a column full of patients that tells you what you are treating that day.) They do not care if you are sick in bed, again, they care about $$$. If you’re a nurse who is contemplating to work at LaserAway, I would strongly recommend to find a different place. Find a company who will listen to you and your feedback. A company who will make their nurses happy. In this company, you will feel exhausted and unhappy. I have worked for LaserAway for 3 years and I am ready to leave.
